This All-Red Wedding With a Mirrored Aisle Was Delightfully “Different Yet Timeless”

“We actually met on Tinder — but with a twist,” says Quynh Anh of the playful dating app switcheroo that brought now-husband Viet Anh into her life. “My best gay friend was the one using my profile at the time, and he matched with Viet Anh. They talked nonstop for days before my friend finally handed me Viet Anh’s Instagram and said, ‘This one is for you.’ Viet Anh only learned about this whole story much later, and it’s still our favorite meet-cute to tell.”

It makes sense that this couple’s movie-worthy modern love early days on the apps led to a wedding that felt SO contemporary and SO romantic. There’s really only one word we can think of that can appropriately capture its essence: RED. 

And since rich red is one of our favorite trending wedding colors of the moment, we are in sumptuous scarlet-hued heaven with this one.

“Red has always been our color, our favorite shade, and also the one that aligns perfectly with both of our zodiac elements,” says the couple about what led them to their special day’s single-color palette and swanky, dreamy, maximalist vibe. 

“We wanted something different yet timeless, elegant but still carrying a very personal imprint,” say Quynh Anh + Viet Anh of the unique, all-red, off-beat-meets-classic aesthetic that event designers from Umbala Wedding + Event and planners from Velvet Vows Creation helped them create at the gorgeous InterContinental Hanoi Landmark 72, the tallest hotel in Hanoi, Vietnam.

There was cascading crimson drapery. There were several jaw-dropping bridal looks and so many personalized details. And that was a mirrored aisle!! You’ll see: diving into these wedding photos by De Rossa Studio is such a divinely decadent experience.

“From the palette to the flow of the day,” the couple says, “every detail was designed to feel like us.”

Groom Viet Anh sported a sophisticated classic tux from La Luot Tailor and shoes from Dior.

“Almost everything was customized,” remembers bride Quynh Anh. “The groom had our initials hand-embroidered on his collar…”

“…and I had our personal quote embroidered in red on my wedding veil.”

“I had three different looks throughout the night,” Quynh Anh says, pictured here in her amazing after party dress. “Timeless for the ceremony, fashion-forward for the reception, and a touch of sexy for the after-party. Each look captured a different part of my personality.”

Our Favorite Memory
The moment my dad walked me down the aisle was already emotional, but halfway through, my godfather was waiting there to give me a hug before I continued. It was unexpected, heartfelt, and truly one-of-a-kind. I think that was the most powerful moment of the entire day.

Our Musical Choices
Processional
 I walked down the aisle to “Young and Beautiful” performed live on solo violin—it felt emotional, intimate, and cinematic. As for the groom, he made a bold (and iconic) choice with “Dark Horse” for his entrance. It was the first time we’d ever seen a groom walk in to that song, and it instantly set the tone for something uniquely ours.
Recessional
We exited the ceremony to “Fall in Love Again”—very on-brand for two Gen Zs who practically live on TikTok.
First Dance
Our first dance was “Ordinary,” a song we’ve never been able to get over. The lyrics just speak to us in a way that felt effortlessly true to who we are.

Our Advice
Don’t try to please everyone and try to focus on what feels authentic to you as a couple. The day goes by so quickly, so choose what makes you both excited, present, and happy. Remember to start early, trust your vendors (especially your planner, trust me, you will need one), and personalize the details that matter. And on the wedding day, let go of control and just be in the moment.
