This Charming Red + White Wisconsin Wedding Was Inspired by the Couple’s Favorite Places

Brittany + Jordan built the entire design vision for their Milwaukee wedding around some of their most treasured memories as a couple. Dates at Italian dive restaurants. Evenings in smokey jazz clubs. Festive holiday parties.

Together with event designers and planners from Rosewood Intimate Weddings, the Brooklyn-based couple captured the essence of these fave shared experiences—Brooklyn red sauce joints, Wisconsin supper clubs, and NYC bars and restaurants they love—by leaning into a joyful, romantic, retro energy and vibrant + vivid pops of red (a color that shows up in all of these beloved places).

We are so charmed by the chic + cozy holiday energy that filled The University Club of Milwaukee for this perfectly timed pre-Christmas late November wedding. And Alisha Tova’s photos so perfectly capture the timeless yet playfully vintage vibe of Brittany + Jordan’s big day!!

We adore Brittany + Jordan’s bright red and white minimalist invitation suite!! Modern with some vintage holiday flair. Check out our list of the best minimal wedding invitations to customize and buy online if you like the idea of skipping a stationer and creating something similar on your own.

“I started my search online, and as soon as I came across my dress on Instagram, I knew it was the one,” says Brittany of her stunning square neck long sleeve belted Suzanne Neville column gown. Wedding Atelier was the only boutique in the area that carried Suzanne Neville gowns, and once I tried it on in person, that sealed the deal: I had to get it.”

“I thought I’d pair it with a more modern veil—something long and plain or maybe with scattered pearls—but my sales associate Alisha suggested I pair my sleek gown with a more romantic floral appliqué veil. And wow was she right. It brought the dress to life! I always pictured myself changing into a late-night reception dress, but I loved both of them so much that I wore them all night!”

Also, LOVE that Brittany paired the look with a chic pair of bridal sunglasses.

Brittany calls this fabulous color “Maraschino Cherry Red.”

Our Favorite Memory From The Wedding

From the bride: For both of us, the moments of connection during the early parts of our day were so special: Our first look, seeing each other at opposite ends of the aisle for the first time, and reading our vows to each other. We also shared our wedding day with my mom’s birthday, so celebrating her and singing happy birthday to her made my heart sing. And then at the end of the night, our encore song was “All I Want For Christmas Is You,” which is a great song to scream-sing and also kick off the holiday season. As soon as it began, Jordan and I ran around the dance floor together giving our friends and family a big hug before the song ended. It was the perfect way to connect with each of our guests one last time.

The Reception

Relics Rentals decked the reception tables in simple white taper candles and rich red tinted vintage glassware.

Wide Eyed Bride created Brittany’s chic + sleek low bun and clean, neutral glam makeup look.

Brittany + Jordan’s day was absolutely PACKED with clever and personal touches including: pub cheese and Brandy Old Fashioneds inspired by their fave Wisconsin supper clubs, paper table cloths for guest to color on in honor of their favorite Brooklyn restaurant Bernie’s, and a cocktail hour nod to their first date complete with beer-shot specials and Brittany’s favorite frozen coffee drinks served in these iconic blue and white New York coffee cups.

“We added a Pittsburgh cookie table, a nod to Jordan’s roots, with family and friends baking well over 1,000 cookies for the occasion (most of them made by my mom, and boy were they good!)” says Brittany. “The cookie spread was surrounded by old family wedding photos and showcased homemade treats as well as cookies from favorite bakeries in Brooklyn, Manhattan and Milwaukee. And at the end of the night, we invited guests to pack up their favorites and take the celebration home with them.”

We love to see a wedding that diversifies the dessert table. Check out our list of 14 wedding desserts to serve besides cake!

“My sister is the genius behind Horoscope Cakes,” Brittany says, “and on top of her neverending list of Maid of Honor duties, she baked our incredible three-tiered wedding cake. It was the cake of my dreams: Lemon funfetti cake with lemon curd and raspberry filling. It was an homage to my grandma’s wedding cake with the vintage-style maximalist piping, the tiered layers with columns and the cake topper. I was obsessed with it, and unfortunately for her, I will be asking her to recreate it every year for me on our anniversary.”bride’s sister”

Is there anything more romantic than a newlywed couple celebrating in the glow of their custom neon sign??

Our Advice To Those Planning Now

From the bride: When it comes to planning your wedding, my biggest piece of advice is to surround yourself with people who are cool, kind and amazing at what they do—and then trust in their talents. In my case, it just so happened that most of my core team were strong, creative, brilliant women: My planner Danielle, venue coordinator Leah, baker (and sister!) Meg, florist Ariyl, and photographers Alisha and Mo are all badass ladies who are geniuses in their craft. Each of them have such a clear vision for their art and process, and their “yes-and” attitudes were the only reason my vision for the day could come to life. I am a television producer by day, but producing a wedding from hundreds of miles away offers many unique challenges. So when it came to my wedding, I leaned heavily on my Milwaukee-based wedding planner extraordinaire Danielle with Rosewood Intimate Weddings. She asked the questions I didn’t know to ask, she styled little moments throughout the night with such magic, and she did it all with the calm demeanor you hope for on a wild day. She was five steps ahead of me the entire time, but was somehow right next to me holding my hand at each turn. And then adding into the mix our venue coordinator Leah, who is the sweetest and most accommodating human you will ever meet, I was in the best hands ever. I will sing all of my vendor’s praises until the end of time. They are perfect in every way and the only reason our photos look so incredible!

Congratulations, Brittany + Jordan!! Your red and white Milwaukee wedding day was a perfect combo of clever, chic, and charming!! GWS wishes you all the very best!!
