Color Like No Other: A Uniquely Vibrant Wedding in Mexico

At the intersection of wild and refined – that’s where the aesthetic for this flower-filled, rich-hued wedding editorial lives.

Take notes, all you destination wedding dreamers, cause the location for this one would be immersive wedding weekend perfection, oh-so worth the trip for all your friends + fam. Nestled along the eastern coast of the Yucatan Peninsula, south of Playa del Carmen and just north of Tulum, is Riviera Maya. It’s there – not far from the sea but still nestled in a lush jungle landscape – that you find 2 Michelin Star boutique hotel Wakax Hacienda, a historic-turned-modern gem.

And the brilliant minds behind the boldly earthy + elegant photoshoot (photographer Lety Altam and event designer Liz Alarcon) knew exactly how to make this spot shine. They collaborated with a whole team of vendors based in Mexico to bring together one of the most unique color palettes we’ve ever seen. 

The day’s florals by Floresta Eventi worked together with the venue to create the bold + creative color world. Arrangements were rich with leafy + wild greenery and mosses, their blooms a super-saturated mix of fiery oranges, deep purples + reds, and earthy pinks. And all that came together to POP against the venue’s canary yellow and venetian red tile work and exterior walls. Bold, curated color with a delightfully overgrown sensibility in an elevated historic venue? Breathtaking.

There’s so much to say about this amazing shoot (the chic + unique style choices, the charming covered walkway reception setup, and on and on), but there’s even more to see.

Our first taste of the color brilliance that was the day’s floral design by Floresta Eventi: this beautiful bridal bouquet. The juxtaposition of the bright springy greens + ivories with the earthier, more autumnal reds and browns is so exciting.

This super unique, low-waisted, sheer skirt wedding dress came from Dalliance — a bridal boutique specializing in gown rental. Such a fatastically sustainable eco-friendly wedding dress idea!

This whole look is bringing to mind the unique waistlines, intentional volume, and minimal-meets-maximal vibes we just saw from the Fall ’26 collections in New York at Bridal Fashion Week.

Celebration Under the Colonnade

The wildly colorful + greenery-filled floral arrangement beside the minimalist serif-font welcome sign captured the earth-meets-elegance duality of the whole vibe.

Cleverly arranged rounds + woven seat chairs from Event Technology brought modern shapes + textures to the tile work + swinging lanterns of the colonnade.
