Welcome to Miami, where palm trees meet non-stop parties and sun-kissed days turn into neon-drenched nights. That was the mood board for Syd and Joe’s vibrant city wedding in the buzzing heart of Miami’s Wynwood Art District. And it was exactly as iconic as you’d imagine!
“‘Cool’ is an understatement when describing Syd and Joe,” says the couple’s photographer, Joshua Kane. “From Syd’s bold and impeccable sense of style and taste to Joe’s laidback nature as the ‘snack king of NYC,’ their wedding weekend was a wild one. Complete with a cheesy Valentine’s theme welcome party and a venue that is part yoga studio, part gallery, it perfectly personifies the quirkiness of Wynwood.”
There were neon sequins. There were technicolor photoshoots. There were coastal beats and a dancefloor that never emptied. We hope you’re ready to party, because this wedding weekend was a full-blown Miami celebration…and the ultimate tropical wedding inspo! 🌴
Will You Be My Forever Valentine?
What better way to kick off your wedding weekend than with a love-themed welcome party?! The vibes were x’s and o’s for Syd and Joe’s pre-wedding celebration…starting with their lovey dovey attire!
This suit jacket gives new meaning to the phrase: wear your heart on your sleeve! Embroidered groom suits are having a major moment lately, and we love this very on-theme take on the trend.
Syd also nailed the theme with this lips-patterned maxi gown. Consider this your sign to rock a statement rehearsal dinner dress!
The sweetest detail from the welcome party? These custom chocolate bars! Peep that adorable illustration of their getaway driver. 🐶
Welcome to Miami
Tropical palm trees, saturated neon stripes, shimmering swimming pools…Syd and Joe’s wedding day oozed all things Miami. And these custom invitations instantly set the mood!
Another statement design element from their big day? All things GREEN.
“Fashion is a huge part of our lives,” says Syd. “I found my Gucci green shoes first, days after booking the venue and before any other wedding decisions were made.” You know we’re suckers for a pair of green wedding shoes!!
For his wedding day look, Joe suited up in a Miami heat-approved ivory suit paired with relaxed leather loafers.
Syd showed off her cool girl style with a designer twist on a classic wedding gown. “I found my wedding ‘dress’ (which was actually pants and a top) through TikTok,” she told us. “After seeing the video (and being sent it by my MOH with ‘this is so you’…) I knew I had to find it! I quickly realized it was by my dream wedding designer, Danielle Frankel, tried it on once in NYC, and that was that.”
And yes, it looked perfect with those green wedding shoes! (P.S. We found the exact same pair on The RealReal!)
“A year later I found out Joey had been on a mission to find the matching bag to my green shoes,” says Syd. “It wasn’t available anywhere — he went to countless stores and even found a personal shopper to help him source the bag. One day it popped up on a resale site and he got it immediately. My prized possession!”

To complete her iconic aisle style, Syd paired her look with a sheer neck scarf and a trendy slicked back bun — aka, one of our fave bridal updo ideas!

Saying “I Do” In Style
For their ceremony, Syd and Joe went back to nature with a minimal and modern outdoor space in their Wynwood venue, aptly named The Sacred Space.
With a towering tree as their backdrop, they kept the rest of their ceremony decor ideas simple. Just some elegant drapery to frame their custom-written vows!
Three words: raw oyster bar. To celebrate finding their best catch, Syd and Joe served this drool-worthy seafood spread during cocktail hour.
“We made every wedding related decision with joy in mind,” shares Syd. “We were so focused on making the day reflect the absolute love that we feel in our relationship, and our planning motto was, ‘we just want everyone to listen to good music, eat great food, have a ton to drink, and have fun in a beautiful setting.'”
Speaking of a beautiful setting, the Wynwood Art District was on full display during the couple’s golden hour photoshoot.
To match the artsy vibe of the destination, photographer Joshua Kane embraced one of our fave wedding photography trends of the year: documentary-style shots. Obsessed with this candid pic!!
Our Advice
It's easier said than done, but try not to get wrapped up in the pressure of what you "should" do. We made decisions based on how we wanted it to feel for us and our guests, which gave us a really clear lens to look through for planning. Remember what it's really about, remember that nothing has to be perfect, and remember that at the end of it all... it's just one day.

Our Musical Choices
New reception trend unlocked! Instead of changing into a little white dress, Syd styled her formal corset top with this green sequin mini skirt and a pair of platform sneakers for her second look. Now THIS is what we call an after-party look!
Our Favorite Memory
It's hard to pick one: our first look, walking down the aisle, or when I looked around and noticed 80% of male attendees were (for some reason) shirtless?
