Is there anything sweeter than a pair of high school sweethearts?
“Ever since the moment we met, we knew it was going to be forever,” say Jensen + Daniel. “We actually met as lab partners in chemistry class but didn’t start dating until about a year later when we were seniors in high school.”
The couple headed off to college in different states, but they weren’t too concerned about spending those four years apart. “The distance didn’t matter to us,” Jensen + Daniel say. When college graduation came they were ready to be reunited full-time, but then an exciting opportunity came along!
“I auditioned for the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders straight out of college and made it,” says Jensen. “Now we knew it was going to be another few years of long distance as Daniel’s job kept him in San Diego. But at the end of my rookie season in 2021, he got down on one knee and proposed.”
So after nearly eight years full of long distance logistics, Jensen + Daniel were ready to celebrate the relationship they’d built with a big, beautiful wedding. Audrey Wood Events worked with the couple to fill Peoria, Arizona’s Blackstone Country Club with dreamy pastel flowers that added lots of lighthearted romance to the day’s sophisticated champagne tones and the venue’s Mission-style architecture.

We are so into the way that Jensen’s gorgeous Galia Lahav “Denise” gown paired romantic bridal details like floral appliqué work and long elegant sleeves with edgier elements like those sheer side panels.

The Ceremony

“At first we wanted white florals,” Jensen says, “but every time I looked at inpso I never felt like it reflected what embodied us. This is when the idea of colorful florals came in.”

“The day was full of butterflies and anxiousness leading up to the ceremony,” Jensen remembers. “My nerves were at an all time high. But as soon as I walked down the aisle and put my hands in Daniel’s I felt at peace. I knew I was in the exact moment I was supposed to be. I was so excited to be marrying the man I had been with for the last 7 years. We finally could say ‘We made it.'”

“The day was absolutely perfect,” Jensen + Daniel say. “Every moment in between was so special. Our wedding day was beyond our wildest dreams… we’re already wishing we could relieve it all over again!!”

The Reception

“My husband and I are both light hearted and positive people,” Jensen says. “The pastel colors matched us and brought everything together. Colorful orchids, peonies, and roses filled our tables, and it was truly breathtaking.”
Our Advice
To any bride in the midst of planning their wedding, don't stress the small things and make sure to pick designs that match who you are as a couple! Never try to copy anyone else's wedding day as what may work for them, may not do the same for you. This is YOUR day. Also as you are planning the day, don't forget what you are actually there to celebrate. As a bride, you can get so carried away in the details, but at the end of the night what matters the most is the love you share with your now husband! I'm giving all my best wishes to every bride out there!
Our Favorite Memory
Our favorite memory from the day was our choreographed first dance. In the middle of "Can't Take my Eyes Off You" by Frankie Valli, we busted out a few dance moves across our floor. Nobody knew that we were doing it except us, so it was a good surprise for all of our guests.
“As a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader, it is our tradition to do our signature pregame performance all together,” says Jensen. “We do it at every wedding and every time the guests are so thrilled to see a front row performance of the DCC. We all love doing it together for the guests and it really is a moment that makes everyone smile.”
