A Vibrant + Sunny Destination Wedding by the Sea in San Jose Del Cabo

The day Harry proposed to Anna, the weather wasn’t exactly cooperating. 

The plan was to get down on one knee at an outdoor pavilion that’s special to them both. With all the proposal plans in place, torrential downpours and a tornado watch in Dallas where the couple lives meant that Harry had to shift his plans a little. A covered gazebo saved the day, and there was so much to celebrate when Anna said “yes” that a little rain couldn’t bother the newly engaged couple.

After their romantic, rainy proposal, there was definitely some sunshine in the cards for Anna + Harry. The couple teamed up with Bonnie, Taffy, and the whole event design + planning team at Bliss Events to create a bright + modern destination celebration at Solaz Resort in Los Cabos, Mexico full of all kinds of sunny color. 

“The first color choice we made for the day was for the bridesmaids to wear yellow,” remembers the couple. And from there their warm + vibrant wedding day palette was born!

There were fabulous flowers and fireworks. The ocean shimmered in the background during the ceremony + reception. And Anna’s stunningly simple wedding gown shined against the backdrop of radiant colors.

“We wanted the vibe to be FUN, playful, unique, exciting, and vibrant,” say Anna + Harry. “We tried to give our guests this initial impression with our invitation suite created by Swell Press which featured bright colors, relaxed custom calligraphy, wave bordering, and holographic foil.”

“Getting ready with the girls all day was so much fun,” Anna remembers. “You cannot top that feeling of being surrounded by love!”

“The bridesmaids chose their own bridesmaid dresses,” says Anna of these lovely lemon yellow looks, “and they brought my vision to life better than I could’ve ever wished for.”

“Walking down the aisle with my dad and seeing my soon-to-be husband, best friends, and family there to support us with the most beautiful backdrop is absolutely a top memory,” Anna recalls.

Our Favorite Memory
From the bride: "One of our best friends, Zack Patterson, beautifully officiated our wedding. We were so grateful he was willing to do that for us. Harry and I both wrote our own vows and read them during the ceremony."

Dreamy Table Decor

“Bonnie, Taffy, and Fernanda of Bliss Events had the incredible idea to color-block the tables and bring in shades of orange, pink, and peach with the yellow,” say Anna + Harry. “We fully trusted them to bring this idea to life and it exceeded all of my wildest dreams.”

Patterned details like antique dishware added complexity to the colorful, modern tablesape.

Yaya Rentals and Cristina G Rentals outfitted the celebration with chic, contemporary furniture and dreamy decor details to create a sophisticated, beachy vibe.

Loving the way those rose colored stemless wine glasses tied the place settings into the floral centerpieces to bring the color blocked vision to life.

“We were truly speechless when we saw the reception,” say Anna + Harry. “The team at Bliss Events is so talented and creative and created a work of art.”

The round stones of Anna’s new wedding band are beautifully balanced contrast with her emerald cut engagement ring!

Let the Celebration Begin!

“My brother, Matt Hugg, is an artist and performed our first dance song, which was really special,” remembers Anna. “And thankfully distracted the crowd from us forgetting our dance moves!!”

“And of course, we had so much fun dancing the night away.”
