A Vibrant, Free-Spirited Beach Wedding in Hawai’i With an Elevated Hippy Vibe

“Relaxed and full and overflowing with radiant love.” That’s how bride Maggy describes her bright, oceanside Maui wedding to now-husband Boudhi.

With the aim of creating an event that felt equal parts earthy and elevated, Maggy + Boudhi collaborated with event designer + planner Taryn Stark Wyant to bring free-spirited energy with an upscale sensibility to Hotel Wailea and the beaches of the southwest coast of Hawai’i’s second-largest island.

As Taryn describes it, the day was “filled with light, love, and laughter.” There were feathers and flowers and pearls and sparkles and tons of bold and vibrant color. One wow-factor moment followed another, and Rebecca Yale Photography was there capturing every stunning seaside second.

Pirouette Paper created the invitations and paper goods for Maggy + Boudhi’s day, embracing the celebration’s pink, lavender, teal, orange, and gold color palette and incorporating Middle Eastern design motifs as a nod to Boudhi’s cultural roots.

We are totally mesmerized by Maggy’s marquise-cut vintage-style engagement ring. Explore our guide to vintage engagement rings if you’re as enchanted by this antique vibe as we are.

Maggy embodied a glamorous mermaid bride aesthetic with the loose, beachy waves and bold bright lip that Maui Makeup Artistry created for her.

This warm-tone flower-adorned hand fan—an absolute work of art—was just the beginning of the magic that Moss Floral Design created with flowers for Maggy + Boudhi’s day.

How precious are Maggy’s Galia Lahav wedding heels?! We are obsessed with those statement pearl details on the toe and the way they tie in all of her pearl wedding jewelry. Check out this pair of Jimmy Choo’s for something similarly pearly.

As a meaningful surprise for her groom, Maggy created this custom photo lapel pin for Boudhi that featured his late father.

The Ceremony

Our Favorite Memory From The Wedding

Seeing everything for the first time was magical. It’s one thing to work through all the details via email and another to see it actually come to life and be as magical as you had wanted!

The pendant lanterns! The double arches! The floral color explosion! We can’t get enough of this ceremony set up. And we love the hippy vibes of the aisle rugs. Discover even more creative aisle ideas in our collection of wedding aisle decor ideas we’re obsessed with.

How precious are these matching lace bodice tulle skirt flower girl dresses!?

The couple remembers wanting their “I do’s” to be “a very spiritual ceremony and to have it feel like a ritual. Very connected to the earth and ocean. A friend of ours officiated the ceremony that we worked on together. It was powerful.”
