For some, there’s a thrill in not knowing what will unfold when, say, you plan to a waterfall elopement in Maui and the weather is unpredictable. Kirsten + Jeremy invited friends and family along for the ride, warning them that they were in for an early hike and the possibility of rain. But it was all worth it to plan a day that truly reflected the couple:
We did everything the way WE wanted it. We constantly asked ourselves what would an ideal wedding day look like and we made all of our decisions based on that. It’s your day. There’s no need to settle for someone else’s vision. When you’re getting married outside in nature you never know what could happen! To us, that was most of the fun!
After a 4 am wakeup call, the hike to the waterfall began….and despite the pouring rain, a flash flood, and a quick rescue on a 4-wheeler, everyone made the hike all the way to that little bit of paradise!
Daylene W Photography came along for the journey to capture photos + video! Away we go…
Nothing a little umbrella can’t fix!
OMG how cute is this?
Worth it? We think YES.
Ceremony Under the Falls
Can’t you just imagine the sweetness of this moment?!
Kirsten’s Allure Bridals gown certainly braved the elements—and we think it was the perfect gown to do so!
Down for the Adventure
How FUN. And honestly, why not?!
Back to Sandy Shores
K + J planned their reception on a catamaran, which sadly, didn’t work out due to wind + rain. So instead…
All the guests made way and jumped into the ocean!
Now THAT is how you celebrate.
