“Set at the historic The United Theater On Broadway, this styled shoot invites couples drawn to Gothic grandeur, Old Hollywood drama, and timeless noir aesthetics to imagine their vows written in candlelight and echoed through cathedral ceilings,” Jessica says.

“Originally opened in 1927 by United Artists, the United Theater was built for the dreamers—the directors, lovers, and poets who believed in the magic of stories told in the dark,” Jessica adds. “That same spirit inspired our creative team to craft a wedding narrative that honors the beauty of nontraditional romance: moody, magnetic, and undeniably bold.”

A color palette of midnight black + fiery orange gave the day an deep + otherworldly gothic warmth that set the breathtaking architecture of the beautifully preserved theater aglow. Vintage + preloved fashion gave each look a sense of legacy. The Hollywood history of the location fueled the whole editorial’s antique, Film Noir, Old World glamour vibe.

And Lulan Studio captured it all in these glorious photos, each one worthy of a gilded frame on a haunted mansion’s mantel.

“From the moment the bride stepped onto the gilded staircase in her sustainably sourced black gown from Junk For Joy, every element was curated to elevate darkness as something exquisite,” Jessica says.

“The aesthetic drew from baroque architecture, noir cinema, and vintage fashion, combining layers of jet-black lace, structured silhouettes, and deep red florals to evoke drama without excess.”

“The couple shared their most powerful moment was standing center stage—just the two of them—while a track list inspired by noir and old soul played through the empty theater,” says Jessica of one of her favorite moments from the shoot.

“Originally introduced by their love of music and performance, they exchanged private vows, and a solo dance to the sounds of: “Strange” by Patsy Cline, “Bang Bang (My Baby Shot Me Down)” by Nancy Sinatra, “Spellbound” by Siouxsie and the Banshees, and “The Killing Moon” by Echo & the Bunnymen.”

“Each song painted a mood, turning portraits into stills from a forgotten film.”

“Lounge spaces were composed of true vintage pieces,” Jessica adds of the history-rich decor, “each adding depth and character to the visual narrative.”
