Inside the Fabulous Fashion of a Beautiful, Multi-Event Destination Wedding Week in Mexico

Like so many good stories, it all started at Burning Man. 

Marina Dobreva (founder of handcrafted accessories brand Mimilore) + Yaniv Tal (co-founder of blockchain startup The Graph) first met after quite literally bumping into one another at the famous festival in Nevada. 

And for these two, love at first sight might be an understatement – they were engaged 12 hours later!

Their breathtaking multi-event destination celebration in Mexico centered around their unmissable, jaw-dropping wedding day with plenty of themed events in the days leading up to and following the “I do’s.”

The five-day experience took place at Hacienda de San Antonio, a private estate in Western Mexico, and consisted of everything from luxurious sunny picnics to moody + elegant dinners to glam + colorful parties, all bringing to life the couple’s vision of “merging true love with extraordinary fashion.” Guests brought their outfit A-game, and stylist Raven Kauffman curated so many looks for Marina + Yaniv that left us absolutely speechless.

Every decor detail was carefully chosen. The guests all looked gorgeous. And the bride + groom’s style choices? Well, you’ll have to see them to believe them. Thank goodness we have these beautiful photos by Pablo Laguía.

“This week was an opportunity for us to weave artistry, community, and individuality – which we prioritize – into a singular vision of fashion and glamour,” shares bride Marina “that embodies our shared adventures, the culmination of a love story, and our future.”

Tucked in the lush green foothills beneath a volcano, sprawling venue Hacienda de San Antonio set a dreamy + luxurious tone for the festivities.

The First Night: “Milagros y Flores”

Marina started the celebrations with a bang in this impeccable high neck floor length crimson fringe dress from Ashi Studio Couture Paris.

The “Milagros y Flores” dinner, inspired by the work of Mexican visual artist Frida Kahlo, featured handmade elements by local artisans like that gorgeous Otomi embroidery table runner to give guests a sense of place, history, and culture.

We love that Yaniv’s all-red look incorporated all kinds of texture with a velvet jacket by Tom Ford, brocade trousers by Michael Schmidt Studios, and an embroidered shirt by Camilla.

Marina added some drama to her fringey dinner look with a multi-texture cape by Michael Schmidt Studios in a matching scarlet red, adorned with silk roses by MS Schmalberg.

Guests brought nothing but jaw-dropping looks to the entire wedding week. For instance, we are obsessed with this sheer knitted look and these massive floral wrist details!

Very into this absurdist, maximalist accessory moment. This incredible woven Lobster purse was the product of the Olmos y Flores collab with Nordstrom a few years ago.

Love that the guest looks kept things largely black + white with pops of red as an homage to the bride + groom’s fiery outfits.

Marina’s piece-y braid crown bridal updo was perfect for showing off the details of her look. Especially those dazzling earrings!

“Ranch Romántico” : A Picnic The Next Day

The following afternoon, guests headed into the foot hills for an opulent outdoor dining experience, and bride Marina was serving full ranch-inspired bridal glam with a mini dress + cape by Berta and an oversized gaucho hat created by Michael Schmidt Studios + milliner Gladys Tamez that incorporated a Chantilly Lace overlay hand embroidered with vintage Swarovski crystals, French silk fringe, and vintage Japanese glass pearls.

The Night Before The Wedding: “Artisanal Ivories”

With the picnic behind them and the Big Day on the horizon, guests gathered at the hacienda for a Wedding Eve dinner, and Yaniv kept things light + crisp with a sand-tone suit by Tom Ford and an Isaia shirt.

Marina stunned in this drop waist feather + lace couture dress by Ashi Studio.

A Poolside Afternoon: “Vintage Splashes”

The day after Marina + Yaniv tied the knot (check out the opulent oceanside wedding day here!!), guests gathered together again for a vintage-inspired poolside celebration overlooking the sea.

Marina WOWed in a one-of-a-kind blush bathing suit and matching cape + bathing cap by Michael Schmidt Studios.

The poolside soirée featured scalloped umbrellas, 50s era tunes, and lots of chic + colorful swimwear looks to bring to life the bride’s “Lake Como fantasy.”
