When it came to wedding planning, Ella + Jacob knew one thing for sure: “We wanted to do something unique in the mountains.” If you want to do something unique, why not ditch the idea of a traditional wedding? And if you want to get married in the mountains, why not do it in the famously stunning Swiss Alps?
So these two lovebirds packed their bags – just the two of them – and flew off to Switzerland.
“This fairytale mountain elopement in Switzerland was something even Disney would envy,” says Malin of elopement coordinators Wild Souls United, “but what made it truly special was how real, raw, and deeply personal it felt.”
The couple used the idyllic + charming Berggasthaus Forelle as their elopement home base, and Wild Souls United took care of all things planning + photography, coordinating a trip full of unforgettable moments in spectacularly beautiful spots.
On the agenda? “They got ready in a cozy mountain lodge, wrote their vows in the rain on a row boat, and shared an intimate ceremony on the rocky shores of a misty alpine lake,” Malin remembers. “And there was champagne in a wildflower meadows and a golden-hour boat ride on the mountain lake.”

When it comes to what made this elopement so special, Malin really said it best: “Ella + Jacob’s Swiss elopement wasn’t just magical—it was uniquely theirs.”
Berggasthaus Forelle sits on the shores of Seealpsee, an Alpine lake surrounded by majestic mountain peaks in northeastern Switzerland, not far from the border with Lichtenstein.
The First Look
“Eloping in the Swiss mountains over two unforgettable days, they experienced it all—rain, moody clouds, and bursts of sunshine,” Malin remembers of this dreamy + dramatic weather.

“We didn’t want traditional wedding attire,” the couple shares of their color-forward approach to their wedding day style.
“Ella fell in love with her dress while dress shopping in Chicago with her family,” the newlyweds recall of Ella’s journey to this gorgeous green floral appliqué wedding dress. “We thought that the sage green colors would look good with the setting.”

Our Advice
Get a good photographer! We couldn’t recommend eloping enough! It was such a special day that was all about us and our relationship, and we wouldn’t have wanted it any other way!
