Mountain Glam: An Awe-Inspiring Wedding in the Swiss Alps

There’s SO much more to Switzerland than just chocolate, cheese, and skiing. And this dazzling wedding editorial is here to teach us all a thing or two about the magic of a destination celebration in Switzerland as well as a wedding aesthetic they’re calling “Mountain Glam.”

With the glorious Swiss Alps as their backdrop, a whole bunch of brilliant vendors came together and created what Lara Flückiger from The WES – Weddings + Event Stories calls “a rare blend of natural alpine beauty, refined luxury, and authentic Swiss charm.”

There was no shortage of ideas when it came to putting this one together. The shoot featured a sunny mountaintop ceremony, a reception at a chic luxury resort, a studio-style photo shoot for the bride + groom, AND a romantic hot tub soak to cap off the day.

“Two iconic locations were chosen to showcase the region’s versatility: The ceremony was held at Lake Riffelsee, with a stunning view of the majestic Matterhorn,” Lara recalls, “while the getting ready and celebratory moments took place at the elegant Cervo Mountain Resort.”

Mind-blowing mountain vistas. Billowing clouds of baby’s breath.  Elegant + inventive wedding day style (the bridesmaids rocked gold. pants.). We fall more in love with this destination wedding shoot and with Switzerland the longer we look at these gorgeous pics from Melanie Munoz.

“The Swiss mountains offer a unique backdrop for weddings — spectacular, romantic, and full of emotion,” Lara says. “Anyone who has breathed the clear mountain air and witnessed the sunset over the peaks immediately understands why more and more couples choose an alpine dream wedding.”

“The bridesmaids wore golden trousers and designer tops, reminiscent of the golden splendour of the Zermatt larches, which were in full bloom at that time of year,” Lara shares.

“The outfits of the bride, groom, and bridesmaids reflected the elegance and luxury of
the surroundings,” says Lara of the way the shoot was styled.

“Lake Riffelsee, whose calm waters perfectly reflected the Matterhorn, provided a picturesque setting for the ceremony,” Lara shares.

“A sea of hydrangeas and baby’s breath framed the altar, which was located on a curved path of glacier-polished stones leading into the water — a true masterpiece of nature.”

“The strong contrast between the elegant studio setting and the impressive natural scenery amplified the “Mountain Glam” character and demonstrated the versatility of this extraordinary concept.”
