“Fall is our absolute favorite season,” Natalie + Broydon say. “We love the vibrant foliage and the cozy, intimate, and moody feeling of change that comes with it. This juxtaposition resonated with us, inspiring the bold pops of color in our wedding and the abundance of warm candlelight.”
Together with planner + event designer Carly of Carats and Confetti, the couple built a day that felt sophisticated + elevated while embracing the autumnal beauty of the natural world around them.
“We knew Catalyst at Nature Link in Nisswa, MN, was the perfect venue,” say the bride + groom. “We both enjoy the outdoors, and the venue’s blend of clean lines and natural elements perfectly matched our vibe. It was the perfect combination of the modern venues in the cities and the rustic charm found in more rural parts of Minnesota.”

“Broydon went for a custom-fit classic black suit from Milbern Clothing in St. Paul,” Natalie remembers of her new hubby’s wedding day formalwear look, “and a black bow tie to go with – he’s an expert at tying a bow-tie!”
“I was worried I would be super indecisive when it came to saying yes to a dress,” Natalie recalls, “so much so that I went to a couple bridal salons and convinced myself I found a winner. The next day I had an appointment at Ivory Bridal in Minneapolis and immediately fell in love with my dress, Heidi by Colby John.”
“I laugh looking back at photos of the first dress I thought I liked because it’s so obvious it’s not my style at all.”
The First Look
Our Favorite Memory
Doing our first look is the moment that stands out to both of us. The location was perfect, down by the quiet lake surrounded by pine trees. We were both so excited to see each other and it relieved a lot of the pressure of the day getting to read our vows privately. Plus, you only get one wedding day and we didn’t want to spend it without seeing each other until the ceremony!

“DIY projects were a big part of our wedding planning and added a personal touch,” the couple says. “We both love a good project! We made our table numbers, tied bows for napkins, and made our mirror and welcome sign as well.”

A Sweet Celebration
“Our most ambitious DIY undertaking was the wedding reception seating chart and wedding favors,” say Natalie + Broydon of the stunning display they created for these mini leaf-shaped maple syrup bottles.
“Early in our relationship, we discovered both of our families make maple syrup! Given this unique connection and Broydon being Canadian, we decided to use homemade maple syrup as our escort cards and favors. We spent the last weeks of March 2024 alongside my parents making and bottling the syrup, and over the summer Broydon worked on building the shelves to display the bottles. This detail was definitely a favorite of ours and our guests!”
