An Earthy + Elegant Destination Wedding in Cabo

This one is a dating app love story with a twist.

When newlyweds Meg + Brandon connected on Hinge and started the relationship that led them to this dreamy destination wedding in Mexico, they realized that, actually—two years earlier—they’d matched on Bumble and never explored it! One app or another, it was meant to be.

The two gathered their nearest + dearest in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico and said “I do” amidst the otherworldly scenery of Michelin-rated resort Acre.

“We knew we wanted to do a destination wedding, and Cabo seemed like the perfect place!” the couple remembers. “We got married at Acre which was the most beautiful venue ever! We loved all the greenery, decor, trees, and setting. It was a perfect vibe for a great party.”

With event designer + planner Carena of Amy Abbott Events, Meg + Brandon created a wedding full of earthy beige, neutral, orange, and green tones that highlighted the organic coastal Mexican garden vibes of the location. And Taryn Baxter was behind the camera, capturing the whole romantic + contemporary celebration so beautifully!

For this beautiful bridal bouquet by Cristina Gonzalez, Meg wanted “a whole mix of flowers but I based my choices on ranunculus because those are my favorite. The florist understood what we wanted and chose the perfect selection of flowers.”

The Ceremony

The Reception

“We used little cards that resembled Mexican tiles which we saw all around Mexico and loved,” says the couple of the cute custom escort cards on their modern + earthy wedding reception seating chart. “They were orange to match some of the statement flowers.”

Furniture + decor details from Cristina Gonzales perfectly blended the day’s modern + organic aesthetics.

“I knew that I wanted some bright colors like orange so we started with that and built from there,” says Meg of the reception’s florals + color world. “I love neutrals as well and wanted the colors to match Acre’s floors and other decorations. I also chose to do small flower arrangements with bud vases instead of large settings that blocked people’s views. We wanted bright and fun but subtle at the same time.”

“Our wedding was perfect in every way possible,” Meg + Brandon remember. “The guests, vendors, decor, food, EVERYTHING was outstanding and the most fun weekend we and our guests have ever had.”

“I learned to trust my gut and choose things that made me happy,” says Meg of what the planning process taught her.

“In some ways, we strayed from tradition, and I am so happy we chose details that capture who are as a couple and not what is expected at a normal wedding!”
