Rosa and Mark were originally devastated to have to postpone their 2020 wedding due to COVID, but luckily… a year later… their day turned out EXACTLY how they could’ve dreamt of!!
The inspiration behind their wedding day was very much a gothic perspective. They have a unique style and vibe that they showcased in every single detail. The venue was Hidden Hollow in Reedley, CA which also provided the amazing florals and design – which they absolutely KILLED by the way, (JUST WAIT!!) It was really beyond expectations to turn a banquet hall into this amazing dark masterpiece and photographer Dani Lacey captured every special moment. The whole day was truly to die for…let’s check it out!
A Gothic Fairytale
Rosa had so many creative, unique aspects to her big day that were truly her and gives the perfect inspiration for any anti-bride!
Quite possibly one of the most important elements of her day was THE DRESS! It was the most beautiful thing, and simply to die for. It was a fun adventure for the bride to get into it, but obviously well worth it!

The Newlyweds
Rosa and Mark were very much about the moments. They didn’t want to spend a ton of time in front of the camera, and when they were they wanted it to be easy, fun, and representative of who they were. Really vibey, artistic people. There are no better words for them…
Despite the dark aesthetic, this bridal party was ALL smiles and looked stunning in shades of burgundy and black!

Their Love Story
Makeup artist Ashlee Marie Rojas created this sultry, smoky look paired with a dark purple lip to compliment the bride’s gown and overall aesthetic.
Rosa and Mark have been together since they were young. It’s a love story that spans decades, which is really sweet in this day and age. You could feel the love around them throughout the day, because when you are with someone since you were a kid, it’s like everyone was in that same relationship and was there with you. Which might not have been fun as a teen, but beautiful to look back on. :)
Hairstylist Dani Tabb created a curly updo that she accessorized with the coolest black wedding crown to add to the drama!
Now these mismatched black wedding nails truly make a statement!
‘Til Death Do Us Part
Instead of a traditional guest book, this couple had their guests sign small wooden bats!!
Okay, as we mentioned this sweetheart’s table is just TOO perfect! We are so on board with the fun decor that comes along with gothic weddings. 🖤
This matte black cake from Frosted Cakery is giving us LIFE! This couple truly leaned into all aspects of a darker and spookier design, and of course, their wedding cake needed to fit right in!
Outfit change? Yes please!! This bride slipped into a dark and dramatic black wedding dress for her reception that definitely turned heads! She looks so stunning!!
We asked photographer Dani to share what her favorite memories were from shooting this incredible wedding!
“The best memory from the day was the party! When everyone loves to dance, it makes my job so fun! The reception is a favorite time for me because I love to move the lights and make it feel like a party with the movement! Seeing everyone laughing, and dancing along with the bride was really memorable.
Also the details! That didn’t include people, but you could tell so much thought and work went into all the details and I had a blast capturing it. It tells their authentic story through the colors and things they love and represent them. Nothing was expected, and I really appreciated that. As a photographer it can get redundant with the same color schemes, same styles, same dresses, and this wedding completely went another direction. It needed to be shared with the world!”
Our Advice
HAVE FUN. Don't think your wedding day has to represent a style that's trending or a compilation of all these Pinterest boards you know are popular, let it represent YOU. Whatever that is. Sometimes so many options can be overwhelming, so stay true to it. Don't be afraid to HAVE FUN. We live in a world of massive saturation when it comes to wedding, and it's important that you never regret your choices. Listen to your heart!
