Bella Figura Letterpress Wedding Invitations

wedding letterpress invitations

I thought these photos of the current collection from our awesome sponsor, Bella Figura, were so amazing! The photos are by Alice G. Patterson and they styled them all with cute little miniatures! Think modern invitations meet tiny industrial settings, nature inspired scenes, a circus and the hand-calligraphed invite above is viewed at a mini drive-in theater. Kinda quirky but really so fun!

Bella Figura is an eco-friendly, letterpress print shop, and they print on their own luxury cotton paper. I love that they are committed to the environment – they are wind powered, carbon neutral (they plant trees to offset the carbon footprint), and they donate 1% of their sales to environmental causes. They have over 200 designs in their collection that range from modern to vintage to whimsical and include everything in between. Check out more of their collection here.

A Charleston South Carolina Engagement

Totally love these gorgeous engagement photos by Virgil Bunao. Crystal + Matt live in Charleston, South Carolina and took their photos at the Hyde Park Polo Club. They are planning a Victorian vintage wedding next year and wanted their engagement photos to have the same vintage + romantic feel as their wedding. Congrats you cuties!

And Crystal shared the story of how they met, which I thought was pretty awesome. :)

Although neither of us ever used online dating, we actually did meet indirectly through match.com! Two of our best friends met though match.com, and when they planned to meet each other in person, they both wanted to bring a friend along. He brought Matt, and she brought me! We have been inseparable ever since that night!

Thanks to Virgil Bunao for the lovely photos, Heidi Perez for the styling and Stuart Laurence Salon for hair + makeup. And for all you film buffs, the photos were processed at Richard Photo Lab.

A Wedding in Africa: Sarah + Andre

africa wedding

Today we have a wedding all the way from Botswana, Africa to share! I just love that couples all over the world are reading Green Wedding Shoes to find inspiration and are willing to share their story. :) Both Sarah + Andre love being outdoors and nature is a big inspiration to them, so it wasn’t a hard decision to get married outdoors. Sarah’s father’s home (where she grew up) was the perfect location and having her wedding in such a personal location made it extra special. It was also really important to them that their day was about them and their friends + family. Thanks so much to Kyle Hale who was the photographer + traveled all the way from Atlanta to Botswana to photograph their day!

Love the invitations that Sarah designed!

WOW. Can’t believe that is her father’s backyard! So lucky…

Most memorable moment of your wedding day? Stepping out the car and seeing that all my ideas had been fully appreciated by family and friends who had put it all together. Of course walking down the aisle with my father to Andre. My father always makes me laugh and I knew that there would be no tears only laughter. My jaw was so sore the next day from smiling so much. Our ceremony was truly special, especially considering one of my parent’s closest friends, Rita was the officiant.

What song did you walk down the aisle to? I walked down to Fireflies by Owl City (when Andre and I first met, this song had just been released and wherever I went it felt like it was always playing). We exited to ‘All I want is you’, by Barry Louis Polisar.

Any advice for those planning now? Be true to you. Enjoy it. Step back occasionally and digest it all. Don’t forget why you are doing it. Don’t lose sight of ‘us.’ And lastly but most importantly let it all go when the day comes and enjoy it because it goes so quickly!

We also want to thank our friends and family who really blew us away with their willingness to help and be a part of it all! And thank you to Kyle Hale who has really touched me with his creative vision of our day, and his kind words!

Congrats to Sarah + Andre!
