Thanks so much for your interest in sharing your work and/or wedding day with the Green Wedding Shoes readers! We are looking to share beautiful weddings full of personality! Whether they are rustic in style, modern, vintage or whimsical – we love them all! Below are some of the common questions we get in the types of weddings we are looking to share here on GWS.
We love:
• Couples with personalities that really shine through in the photos
• Creativity
• A keen eye for fashion and styling
• Gorgeous locations + unique venues
• A love for the small personal details
• And most importantly, the couple has to be madly in love!
Types of Submissions we share on GWS:
• Real Weddings
• Unique + Fun Engagement and Anniversary Shoots
• Sweet Proposals
• Bridal Showers and Rehearsal Dinner
• DIY Ideas
• Invitations, Sweets + other fun wedding details!
• Styled Shoots to share new + fun ideas with our readers. For these types of submissions, I’m looking for a distinct style, unique themes, or just a great story.
Sounds like you? Here’s what I will need for your submission:
How many images?
If it’s a wedding or styled shoot please submit 50-100 photos including detail shots, portraits, ceremony and reception.
For engagement + anniversary sessions, 30-60 images is great.
*Note, If you are a bride/groom submitting your wedding, please make sure you have permission to share your photos from your photographer first!
What type of information should I send?
Please send a list of your wedding artists with their website links, any special DIY projects for the day, and/or any other special things to note. (For weddings, I love to know your inspiration behind the day, favorite memory of the day, music choices and any advice you have for brides planning now).
What size photos?
Images should be 650 pixels across and without watermarks.
Please do not send large/high res photos. If your photos are larger than 1 mb for each photo, they are too big.
Who do I send them to?
Since GWS receives hundreds of submissions each month, Two Bright Lights is my preferred method of receiving and reviewing submissions. This tool is a great resource for photographers and it’s ease of use allows me to review your work sooner than traditional email submissions.
If you prefer to submit your work via email, please send it to submissions [at] greenweddingshoes.com and include “SUBMISSION and what type” in the subject line. Please send all the photos in one zip file through yousendit.com or via dropbox to jen {at} greenweddingshoes [dot]com.
If you have a blog, you can also send me a link to the feature first to see if it’s a fit.
We are looking to share exclusive features on GWS
I am always searching for fresh + unique content to share here on Green Wedding Shoes, so please let me know in advance if you have submitted this to other blogs. We are looking for features to share that are exclusive to Green Wedding Shoes. As such, once your feature has been accepted for publication on GWS we do ask for a 90 day window of exclusivity from your publication date before you submit to another blog or magazine.
When will I know if my wedding (or other session) is going to be featured?
I truly appreciate you sharing your wedding day/work with me! If I think your wedding or engagement session is a good fit for Green Wedding Shoes, I will contact you within 14 days of your submission date to let you know it has been selected to be featured. If you don’t hear anything from me within that time, please go ahead and submit your wedding/work elsewhere. Due to the large amount of submissions I receive on a daily basis, I’m unable to respond personally to each + every email – although I do try my best! Please know I review every submission which comes through my inbox and just because the submission you sent over this time wasn’t a right fit for my readers – it doesn’t mean I wouldn’t love to feature a submission from you at some point in the future. I love submissions and do hope you will consider Green Wedding Shoes again in the future to share your work.
