Inspired by their nostalgic love story and quirky style, Misha and Yulia wanted their wedding to feel like a whimsical wonderland, complete with personal touches, bold surprises, and their shared motto: more than more. The vibe? Dr. Suess meets tomato girl summer, with kitschy details straight out of your wildest daydreams.

A Kitschy + Colorful Dreamland
More embroidered groom suits for 2025! Misha rocked this rad modern suit for his groom attire, dotted with colorful embroidery for a unique custom touch.
For her statement attire, Yulia kept things short and sweet with this tea-length wedding gown and matching neck scarf. Also loving her curly wedding hairstyle to complete the whimsical look!
Forget flower arches — this giant lamp statue is our new ceremony backdrop obsession!
When dreaming up the whimsical design, the planners at Drugoe Events used Misha and Yulia’s love story as inspiration. The couple first met at a camp as teenagers, falling in love during long conversations under the glow of lamplight. That sweet memory sparked the creation of this statement backdrop, which is designed to look like a floor lamp draped in dusty blue linens.
“This is a reference to how in childhood, the couple would gather in the camp in the evening for a ‘fire’ and share emotions, sum up the day,” says planner Diana from Drugoe Events.
It also ties into the “more than more” theme that defined the wedding day, which is a meaningful phrase for the couple (they have it engraved on a pair of matching rings!). Misha also had Yulia’s engagement ring personalized with the words “something more” — the perfect motto for this maximalist wedding aesthetic!
From the funky reception table layouts to the playful textures and kitschy colors, this event design by Marito Decor was all about more, more, more.
And yes, that includes more statement lampshades! Because why not?!
For their tablescapes, Misha and Yulia kept the whimsy alive by trading classic flowers for farmer’s market favorites, displayed in a dreamland of zany vines, quirky arrangements, and futuristic martini glasses.
Paired with a patchwork of vintage-inspired lamps and fanciful place settings, it was like a childhood dreamland brought to life. Anyone else feel their inner child healing right now?

A “More is More” Wedding Day Timeline
For Misha and Yulia, the “more than more” motto didn’t stop with the decor. They also maxed out on a timeline of unexpected ceremonies and unique entertainment ideas, starting with a romantic outdoor celebration.
“The first intro ceremony by the pond was at the beginning of the day, where we told part of the story, stopping at the most interesting part,” says Diana. “We left the vows and “I do”s for the evening, and for good reason!”
The ceremony was followed by a quick photoshoot in front of this giant blue heart backdrop, adorned with the words “just married.” It’s vintage kitsch meets campy cool, and we would expect nothing less from this unconventional couple!
Meanwhile, guests stepped through the rabbit hole and into the couple’s whimsical wonderland of games and entertainment, including crash-karting, a shooting range, and an Elvis cameo.
“Throughout the day, guests participated in the animated interactive world of the couple,” Diana shares. “We arranged various game zones, uniting everything with mechanics and a ‘monetization’ system — by participating in entertainment, guests received the currency of ‘moments.'” These came in the form of QR codes that displayed detailed stories of Misha and Yulia’s relationship.
“The main prize was a toy that the groom made with his own hands for the wedding day!” says Diana.
Once the guests had collected all the “memories,” they unlocked the main event of the day: the second evening ceremony!
But first: an intimate dinner party, where guests could soak up all the saturated hues and dreamy details of the couple’s reception space while nibbling on gourmet bites from Nagotovit catering.
Another moment of appreciation for the couple’s unique wedding attire! From Misha’s custom embroidery (which matched the embroidered designs on Yulia’s scarf) to their bright pops of blue, every detail was intentional and personal.
Especially loving Yulia’s blue wedding shoes — aka, the perfect something blue!
And now for the main event! Throughout the wedding day, the couple’s giant floor lamp altar was hidden behind a wall, so it could be unveiled in a dramatic surprise reveal.
Paired with cozy mood lighting, it was definitely a WOW moment!
