Haley always dreamt of a romantic, Spanish style wedding. A wedding filled with lace, brushed gold, chunky woods, candelabras, crosses, succulents, greenery, and ivory. With their location set on the scenic town of La Jolla California (near San Diego), Cortnie of Canvas & Canopy Events was the perfect designer to help Hayley + Greg create their dream day. Just wait until you see their stunning reception room! And of course hiring the lovely ladies of Joielala to capture their day made for perfection. Hayley said what she loved most about their wedding was “that the elegance of the day will stand the test of time and the uniqueness of all the details makes it stand on its own.” I couldn’t agree more! I knew the dress I wanted before I even started dating my husband. I saw it in the window one afternoon in a bridal boutique store in San Francisco. It was exactly what I had always envisioned in. The dress, I later found out was the Monique Lhuillier, Scarlet. Â I didn’t try on one other wedding gown…it was a perfect fit.
We got married in a small, Spanish Catholic chapel in La Jolla, California with wood beamed ceilings and a beautiful gold detailed alter. Â The church was filled to the brim with our family and friends. Our reception was at the La Jolla Country Club, with breathtaking coastal views and wide open space.
Our wedding planner, Cortnie Purdy with Canvas and Canopy events, took our vision and went above and beyond our wildest dreams.  The dining area was flooded with candles, beautiful lace linens, gold place settings, greenery, and unique vintage Spanish elements scattered about perfectly.
No two tables were alike. The elegance and uniqueness was like something we had never seen at a wedding before. The “party”room was just as beautiful, with funky customized elements. We played a little more with color in this room – throwing in some gorgeous reds and burnt oranges. Amazing vintage white and gold furniture provided comfortable (and stylish) seating area, with hand made printed pillows courtesy of Cortnie.
