In the mood for a little something non-traditional? A roller rink wedding may be just what you’re looking for! This styled shoot was inspired by two things: a beautiful, real-life couple (by the way, the bride is a professional skater!!) and the retro vibes behind the new wedding venue, Pigeon’s Roller Rink!
Event designer Dana Gaydon teamed up with photographer Meredith Gradishar of Zoom Theory to create this retro vintage wedding inspiration. With a fall-inspired color palette, a unique venue, and a beautiful couple, it was sure to be a hit! Ready to see a roller-skating couple and a pizza party to end the night? Read on!
All the Retro Vibes
Every couple dreams of a wedding venue that feels truly like “them”. For some people, that means a country club or beachfront wedding. For others, a roller rink just speaks to their personalities way more!
The color palette for the day was the perfect intersection between retro and fall. A winning combination! This autumn-toned bouquet by Flowers by Laurel was the perfect fit for the day.
Here’s a surprise – the venue comes with these beautiful vintage church pews! Not only are they convenient, but the pews bring a much-welcome contrast to the rest of the space. Though they match perfectly with the retro theme, you wouldn’t exactly anticipate seeing church pews in a roller rink!
Rolling Down the Aisle
A greenery arch was the perfect choice to tie in the wedding’s theme. The green and orange tones match so beautifully with the rest of the fall colors in the space. It’s also a super fun juxtaposition against the roller rink floors. Dare to think out of the box!
Look at this glowing beauty!
The groom looked fantastic in his amber-colored corduroy suit. This is proof that what’s old will always become new and trendy again! If you’re looking for more inspo to dress up your groom for the big day, we’ve done the work and found the best wedding suits!
The bride and groom rolled away into happily ever after.
Couples who skate together, stay together!
One of the great things about shooting an editorial with a real couple is how well you can see their love translate into the real world! Can’t you imagine sharing this beautiful moment with your partner?!
The sweetheart table was as cute as can be! It felt vintage, tropical, and oh-so-fun!
An aerial view shows us how beautifully decorated the table was. Woven placemats and colored goblets transport us straight to the 70s, while the bursting-with-color florals scream 2022 trend!
What’s more 70s than a golden velvet couch? This wedding lounge (featuring an obligatory disco ball) is the perfect refuge for guests after partying their socks off.
Let the good times roll with some rollerskate cookies by The Cookie Mac. YUM!
No matter what your wedding day looks like, be sure to take some time alone with your new spouse. After all, you need a chance to soak it all in!
Speaking of soaking it all in, how about doing so with some refreshing frosé in hand?
No roller rink wedding would be complete without…pizza! Be sure to offer your guests multiple flavor options for these delicious savory pies. Dare we say to offer pineapple as an option? The more pizza, the merrier!
There you have it – the retro roller rink wedding of our dreams! Looking for a slightly different take on retro wedding inspo? Don’t worry – we’ve got you!
