Marisa and Ben are vibrant, fun-loving, and their wedding reflected all that and more! The cute couple are longstanding residents of South Florida and love to frequent Islamorada in the Florida Keys. When it came time to plan their wedding, the sandy, sunny beach was the only venue truly meant for them.
The wedding was held at the grounds of Post Card Inn Beach and Resort, and the day went off without a hitch. To help plan their island affair, the couple hired the experts behind Gina Marie Events and Finding Light Photography. Throw in some flowers by Flormosura, great company, and a whole lot of love, and you’ve got the event of a lifetime!
Island Time
What would your color scheme look like for an island wedding? For Marisa and Ben, orange, oceany greens, and peach were the way to go! Their invitation suite by Nocturnal Press instantly alerted guests that they were in for a fun and colorful treat.
Marisa and her best gals started celebrating her nuptials by wearing adorable matching robes and popping confetti while getting ready.
Marisa and her father shared a tender moment as he saw his daughter as a bride for the first time. Dad also looked absolutely amazing in his pink suit!
First Look On the Beach
Marisa looked stunning in her Daughters of Simone gown while approaching her future husband for their first look.
I saw [the dress] on Pinterest a year before we were even engaged, and I instantly fell in love! I had never thought about myself in a wedding gown or had any vision of what that could look like until I saw this one. I had gone to a few bridal shops but I was still thinking about that gown from Pinterest. Daughters of Simone offers a try-on at-home option, so I opted for that and they shipped a sample to my house. I had a try-on party with my friends at home, and it was so fun, and also much less pressure than being in a bridal shop!
The couple’s dog, Banjo, held a prominent role in the wedding!
Fun Fact: Marisa was Flormosura’s very first bride! With a gorgeous bouquet like this one, it’s clear to see why her business has grown so much since.
A Long-Awaited Celebration
Like many couples affected by COVID, Marisa and Ben’s wedding did not take place on its originally scheduled date. However, that just gave them more time to plan the festivities! And I mean how fun is this woden sign by The Basic Birch Co.?!
Guest books are adorable, and this trend takes that idea to a whole new level! This cute pink phone allowed guests to leave phone messages offering their well wishes to the couple. Your friends will love having the opportunity to leave voicemails for you and your spouse to listen back to years after the wedding.
The peach, green, and orange theme carried on into the ceremony where the couple would soon say “I do”.

Recessional: Could You Be Loved by Bob Marley
First Dance: Wonderful by Eric Clapton
Marisa’s outfit looks like a dream come true on this sandy beach. If you’re looking for the best beach wedding dresses for you, we’ve got you!
It was all smiles and cheers when celebrating the beautiful newlywed couple.
Ben looked absolutely enamored with his bride. So sweet!
Marisa couldn’t contain her happiness! Between the flowers, the arch, the beach, and her smile, it’s hard to pick one favorite part of this photo.
Sun’s Out, Love’s Out
Is this seating chart not one of the cutest you’ve ever seen?! It may just make our “Best Of” list for 2022!
It’s all about the little things in life, and these little flower arrangements are no exception. Mini flowers and a tealight candle instantly elevate this already-chic wedding lounge. We’ll take a margarita, please!
These family-style tables are everything. This setup is amazing for couples who truly want to bring both sides of their families together. After all, when you get married, everyone becomes part of one big family!
We’re calling it now: Unique vases are going to be one of the big wedding trends of 2022.
You don't have to follow the "traditional" wedding ideas if you don't want to. It's your day, so create the magic you want! It truly is the best day ever for you and your spouse, and no one else! Also, I highly suggest working with vendors that fit your vibe and aesthetic because it makes it so fun and easy to work with them while planning, and having them there on your wedding day will put you much more at ease!
The sweetheart table was perfectly curated to match with Marisa and Ben’s bubbly personalities.
There were so many amazing moments but our Top 3 are: 1) Our first look 2) Eating dinner at our sweetheart table because it gave us a moment alone to admire the entire wedding and soak it all in together. It was definitely a moment of bliss seeing it all come together and watching our guests mingling and having a good time. 3) The dance party, of course! We loved seeing all of our friends and family in one place together after not seeing one another for so long due to COVID. Everyone was so happy and enjoying themselves, and that made us both so happy to see!
Congratulations to the happy couple from the team here at GWS!
