This Wedding in Palm Springs Is Giving Us ALL the Pretty in Pink Vibes

Pretty in Pink Palm Springs Wedding

If you’re gonna have a wedding, you have to be true to yourself. This was the case for Daphney and Austin, who went all out on an all-pink wedding! Though the couple originally planned to elope in Colorado, several of their vendors canceled. Instead, this Palm Springs wedding was born! Their venue, The Saguaro, offered the couple all of the flexibility and creative freedom they needed to make their wedding memorable.

Photographer Madeline Barr gave every photo a funk, retro feel, that perfectly matched the couple’s quirky vibe. With just a few short weeks to coordinate the wedding, there was no official planner! Each and every element of this wedding was truly and undeniably characteristic of Daphney and Austin.

Pretty in Pink

Okay, okay, we may have roped you in with the ‘pretty in pink’ title. But make no mistake – this is anything but the style of the 80s! Modern blush tones and pearl accents set the scene for a romantic, beautiful wedding.

Custom Doc Marten Wedding Boots

Daphney and Chris are crazy in love! The soon-to-be-newlyweds etched their 12/31/2021 wedding date onto a pair of Dr. Martens wedding boots.

Pink Odlyne the Ceremony Dress

As gorgeous as this pink dress from Odylyne the Ceremony is, it wasn’t Daphney’s first choice! Yup, that’s right. The bride originally planned to wear a traditional white dress from Essence of Australia. After their plans for a Colorado wedding changed, so did the dress!

I had a beautiful white, beaded Essence of Australia gown with puff sleeves to dazzle in the New Year’s Eve snow. Because of the new location and different vibe, I opted to promote my reception dress, the Odylyne and the Ceremony Mini Caspian, as the gown I would walk down the aisle in.

Floral Pins in Bridal Hair

Pearl details added an ultra-feminine touch to Daphney’s look. These gems are making a comeback, even in wedding gloves!

Purple Selkie Bridesmaids Dresses

Selkie dresses are the bridesmaid trend we can’t get enough of! These fun and flirty styles are chock-full of personality.

When our elopement turned into a mini-mony (just 30 days before the wedding!), I decided to add in a bridal party. I needed dresses that would arrive within two weeks, be size-inclusive, and require minimal alterations if any. I have always loved Selkie and have a few puff dresses of my own made the most PERFECT bridesmaid’s dresses. They are colorful, fun, and infused my personality into the bridal party.

Pink Groom Suit

The groom was not exempt from the pink theme! Austin rocked a stellar pink suit that had heads turning all night long.

The wedding day wouldn’t be complete without the pup of honor! This beautiful dog was not only present on the big day, but was also an honorary member of the bridal party. Someone deserves an extra treat!

One of the most memorable parts of the wedding was the hand-fasting ceremony. This ritual includes the binding of the couple’s hands to represent their bind in marriage and life itself.

Disco balls added the exact carefree flare that the couple was looking to incorporate into their wedding. This wasn’t some stuffy, formal affair. It was a fun celebration of love!

Our Favorite Memory From The Wedding

Daphne: There were so many memorable moments in the day, but my favorite was our cake cutting. I think this was the most intimate part of our day because we got to spend some time alone and really interact with each other. I just remember being so happy that the day turned out imperfectly perfect and giving him a genuine kiss and not one just for the cameras!

Austin: The most memorable part of our wedding day to me was the ceremony when I got to see my beautiful bride and the hand-fasting ceremony where we tied the knot together. It made me very happy because I get to spend the rest of my life with my best friend.

Lovestruck, indeed! This killer fringe jacket added in that extra edge that made the bride’s look even more memorable.

P.S. Can you spot the Swarovski crystals on the groom’s bowtie?!

Our Advice To Those Planning Now

Everything will turn out the way it's meant to, even if some things don't go as planned. I call our day imperfectly perfect because so many things just turned out way different than we had thought or didn't happen at all and our day was even better than we both could have imagined. We wouldn't have changed a thing. With that said, don't sweat. You got this. You only get this special day once, so make sure to completely take it in and live in the moment. It goes by in a flash!

All in all, looking back on photos of our day, we both see ourselves truly represented as who we are as a couple: Unique, quirky, colorful, and fun!

Congratulations to Daphney and Austin!
