The Yucatan Peninsula is a long way from Brooklyn, and, to wanderlustful couple Tiffany + Mario, that was the best part!
Tiffany + Mario are based in New York. Tiffany’s in fashion while also getting her masters at Cornell and Mario’s a financial planner. The two love to travel, and—even more than that—they love spending time with their closest family and friends. Putting the two together for an intimate destination wedding in beautiful Tulum, Mexico was an absolute no-brainer.
The stylish couple collabed with event designer and planner Fer Gallegos to make their modern yet classic celebration at 16tulum a reality, and we are so glad Bea + Aron from Beatatum were around to capture all of the moody, romantic goodness.

Pink heart sunnies are always a win in our book!

Zoë Elizabeth is the glam genius behind Tiffany’s dewy makeup look and simple, elegant waves.

Loving this smoky, satin bridal party palette.

This bountiful bouquet is just the beginning. Florals from Mandarinna Studio filled the day with romance using greenery, texture, and white and ivory blooms.

An Eclectic + Classic Ceremony

Bold aisle marker arrangements and a leafy ceremony backdrop installation made this intimate 36-person celebration feel chic and lush.

Tiffany says putting on her veil the first time made her feel positively bridal.

Celebrating in Style

Tiffany’s Jenny Yoo gown was the second one she ever tried on. She was on the hunt for something clean, contemporary, and fitted, and she fell in love instantly when she put on this simple beauty. In case it was “too good to be true,” Tiffany gave other dresses a chance to make her feel the way this one did, but nothing ever captured her heart like this sleek and glamorous stunner.

Our Advice To Those Planning Now Tiffany: My advice for planning would be to make your decisions and move on. Lingering on decisions for whatever reason (ex. waiting for more options, unsure about what looks good, etc) only makes things more stressful than it actually is. Enjoy your wedding day and don’t sweat the small things. No one will know if things go wrong, but they will notice if you are stressed!
Mario: My biggest piece of advice is to accept the help. Whether it’s your bridal party, vendors, or family - accept the help when you can. The less you have to stress about on your wedding day, the more you can enjoy it. Delegating small tasks adds up and gives you the flexibility to focus on what’s most important!

Looking good while doing good! Sustainable fashion was a priority for Tiffany + Mario, so many of the looks on the big day (bride, groom, wedding party) were secondhand!
A Modern + Romantic Reception

Details like these adorable monogrammed coconut waters (in actual coconuts!) were super important to Tiffany + Mario. “We wanted to give our guests little surprises and also make them feel comfortable being away from home.” So they went above and beyond with big gestures like a welcome party on the beach as everyone arrived and little touches like personalized Thank You’s behind each guest’s dinner menu.

The rich and leafy floral garlands running the length of these banquet tables bring all sorts of elegance while highlighting the verdant magic of Tulum.

Tabletop and furniture elements from Archive brought a bold and modern edge to the evening’s vibe.

Truly nothing better than fairy lights.

Our Favorite Memory From The Wedding Tiffany: My most memorable moment of the wedding was during cocktail hour where we went to one of the rooms in the villa to practice our first dance a few more times! Besides working through those dancing nerves, taking a couple of minutes to relish in that moment of being officially married made all the planning and stress all worth it. The only thing we needed to do afterwards was enjoy, eat, and dance for the rest of the night!
Mario: For me, the most memorable moment was watching Tiffany walk down the aisle. Everything feels like it’s happening all at once on your wedding day and it’s easy to be overwhelmed! Watching her walk down eased my mind and it was my happiest moment of the entire evening.

A round of applause for this fun and feathery second look from Cult Gaia!!

A final thought from our couple: “Having a destination wedding is not easy but it is absolutely worth it and we could not have done it without the help and support of our amazing vendors, family, and friends. We are incredibly grateful for the creative and hardworking teams that helped put this all together! Tulum is a truly magical place and somewhere that we can’t wait to go back to!”
