This Melbourne, Australia Wedding Was Pure Playful Elegance

When Vic + Akiva set out to plan their Melbourne, Australia wedding day, they knew they wanted to capture the playfulness of their personalities while also paying tribute to the significance of the moment.

“We made sure that every decision that we made felt very ‘us,’” says the couple. “We incorporated our sense of fun and informality while also making it serious enough that it still felt like an important moment in our lives.”

The result was an elegant yet exciting celebration at downtown Melbourne venue Quat Quatta full of lively color, elevated charm, and lots of tulle!

We’re so glad that photographers from It’s Beautiful Here were there snapping these fab photos so we can give you a peek!

Pajama sets and slippers make the perfect bridal party gifts that your crew will wear over and over after your big day. Grab a set of Michael Kors TULA slides in deep fuchsia and white cotton ruffle cami + shorts pajama sets to recreate Vic’s bridesmaids’ getting ready vibe!

Bride Vic is in fashion and worked closely with designer Oglia Loro to create her show-stopping strapless structured bodice wedding gown with its voluminous tulle skirt. “It was really important that it suited my body and was something that I hadn’t really seen before,” says Vic. “It also very much reflected my personality as someone who is not afraid of going a little over the top.”

Blow Waves by Kristina was behind Vic’s chic bun and face framing waves, and Makeup By Dani created her glowy, rosy glam.

So, we’re completely obsessed with these bridesmaid dresses!! Vic and her girls designed these custom tiered tulle beauties. We LOVE that they went with a unique take on a mismatched bridal party palette by opting for matching asymmetrical silhouettes in four different colors.

“I wanted the bridesmaid dresses to continue the storyline of the bridal dress,” says Vic. “We picked a colour that suited each person and built the wedding colour scheme around these colours to really make them feel as part of the event.”

Groom Akiva’s classic ivory jacket tux came from InStitchu.

We’re so into the elevated energy that this crew’s formal menswear added to the vibe of the day. Check out our A to Z guide to men’s formalwear to study up on which tailored looks could be the best fit for your occasion.

The Ceremony

One of our fave parts about Vic’s high low wedding dress? The way it showcased her bow accent wedding heels from Jimmy Choo!

Florist Pomp & Splendour brought some serious whimsy with the day’s flower arrangements. So charmed by those tiny yellow + white bursts of chamomile!

Our Favorite Memory From The Wedding

The whole day was so memorable its hard to pick out specific moments! Definitely Vic walking down the aisle was a highlight for us both as we chose not to do a first look so this was the first time we had seen each other in our wedding attire. Also the Hora dancing when we entered into the reception after the ceremony was a real highlight and started the reception off with some great energy and love.

Completely astounded by these next-level bridesmaid bouquets.

Our Advice To Those Planning Now

Don't be scared to step outside of a traditional "timeless" wedding! We are so glad that our wedding reflected our personalities and know we will look back on it with so much joy. Sometimes it was the little details that turned out to really make the event so special. Adding the dance floor lighting was a last minute decision that massively paid off. Putting in a bit of a personal DIY touch for the ribbons on the table also meant there was an extra special feel for us knowing the amount of work we had put in ourselves.

A look this fierce calls for a fabulous entrance!

Can’t get over these custom dresses and the way the matching white strappy bridesmaid heels tied everything together.

Incorporating Jewish traditions (like the hora!) to pay tribute to Akiva’s heritage was super important to the couple.
