Inside Madison Chamberlain’s Whimsical Fairytale Wedding 

You know there are few things we love more here at GWS than a uniquely colorful bridal style moment. And there’s one designer in particular whose name is synonymous with bridal vibes that are boldly colorful, fabulously frilly, seriously sparkly, and joyfully nontraditional. And that’s Madison Chamberlain.

Madison Chamberlain’s shimmery pieces have appeared in SO many of our Real Weddings (her veils in particular!!). Like this Valentine-inspired Toronto wedding, this vibrant vintage wedding, this colorful NYE wedding, this eclectic New Orleans wedding, and this maximalist 90’s-inspired wedding, to name just a few.

So we’re pretty starstruck to say: we get to share with you a peek inside Madison’s very own wedding!! 

When it came to the day’s design vibe, Madison did what she does best: “The inspiration was a whimsical fairytale.” She and groom Jonas said “I do” at The Inn at Barley Sheaf Farm in beautiful New Hope, Pennsylvania, working with Sunbursts + Stardust to create a vibrant day full of maximalist romance, meaningful embellishments, and love.

There was a green wedding gown designed for the bride by the bride. There was a hot pink reception look adorned with Barbie shoes. And there was a giant three-tier wedding cake that the bride + groom emerged from for an unforgettable ceremony reveal.

“The day involved lots of color, joy, and sentimental moments,” Madison shares, and Alyssa Rose Photography was there capturing it all. Let’s take a look!

The storybook fonts and metallic pink details of these invites by Aubrey Kohl Design are modern cheeky fairytale perfection.

We dare you to find a mother of the bride dress more exquisitely unique than this bow-adorned look that Madison designed for her own mom! “Designing for my Mom and bridesmaids was such a special thing to do,” Madison says. “It felt so good to make them also feel incredibly beautiful for the wedding.”

Here it is, folks! The GORGEOUSLY green and exquisitely embellished fairytale princess wedding gown that Madison Chamberlain designed for her own Big Day.

You better believe that the QUEEN of the statement wedding veil created a show-stopper for herself. The pastels! The ethereal tiered edges! 😍

“It was a long process, but from the very beginning I knew I wanted to wear color,” says Madison of her dress creation journey. “Once we chose the venue, it really helped clarify what I pictured myself wearing. For my first dress, I wanted to feel like a fairy princess — whimsical, romantic, and twinkling.”

“The silhouette and construction were incredibly important to me. My team and I spent hours hand-sewing each embellishment, and one of my favorite details was incorporating a hoop skirt and hip pads. As a fashion history buff, that was truly a dream come true.”

“My ceremony veil was made entirely of drapey silk chiffon, and I wanted it to feel like a watercolor painting. The bottom featured irregularly shaped flounces in shades of blue, pink, and purple.”

“Throughout the veil were tiny embellishments, including Czech glass beads as an ode to my husband’s home country.”

Absolutely in LOVE with the lavender bridesmaid dresses that Madison dreamed up for her besties.

And, yes, this brilliantly beaded + embroidered tie is a Madison Chamberlain original as well.

The Ceremony

“I also did the design and fabrication on our ‘beloved’ ceremony heart,” Madison says of this pink + frilly giant heart ceremony backdrop she created with Lilac + Lace.

“I have never worked on something so large scale before but I had so much fun staple gunning down all my ruffles and designing something so grand.”

East Tulip made sure the day was decked out with joyful, whimsical flowers in every shade.

The Reception

We love to see a reception setup that features + utilizes decor details from the ceremony!

Citrine Tablescapes filled the reception tablescapes with glowy candles and plenty of subtle shimmer.

We love this reception photo because it shows off these fantastical floating floral hanging installations, while giving a peek at the GIANT cherry-adorned cake by Sarah Marie Events that became a fixture of the celebration.

“My second look was a hot-pink ballerina mini dress paired with a voluminous veil covered in my favorite embellishments and vintage Barbie shoes and toys,” Madison says. “The perfect look to dance the night away in.”

“I loved creating both of my looks so much, and it meant everything to have both of my design aesthetics represented throughout the day: romantic and whimsical, and disco pink Barbie.”

Our Favorite Memory
The loud cheers from our guests as we walk down the aisle before the ceremony. Or jumping out of the cake!

Our Advice
They aren't lying when they say it's the best day of your life. I have never had so much fun and to be surrounded by everyone we loved was incredible. I was given the advice in my beginning of planning to focus a lot of my decor efforts into one area. This was stellar advice. I focused on the colorful ceiling/backdrop draping, the majority of the florals, my giant cake, and my ceremony heart all being in the ceremony/reception space. This made the room feel so fantastical. I did not worry so much about decorating the cocktail hour outside as it was already a beautiful landscape. This helped make the room people were in the longest feel very impactful!

Pink platform peep toe rhinestone wedding shoes?! We’d expect nothing less to complete Madison’s spectacular reception look.

We’re already huge fans of Madison Chamberlain, so we had a feeling we’d be huge fans of Madison + Jonas’s vibrant fairytale wedding. But we are beyond WOW-ed!! Congratulations to the happy couple! GWS wishes you a life as full of whimsy as your colorful, fantastical wedding day!
