Medieval Meets Futuristic: An Absolutely Epic Pink + Silver Wedding in Spain

“From the very beginning, we knew we wanted our wedding to be infused with medieval epicness,” say newlyweds Paloma + Oscar of their futuristic-yet-historic wedding in Valencia, Spain.

The couple combined forces with event designers + planners from Eventos Clandestine to bring color, creativity, and a contemporary design vision to the beautiful, centuries-old structures and outdoor spaces of medieval Montasterio de Sant Jeroni de Cotalba and to create an overwhelmingly impactful one-of-a-kind aesthetic that would “leave no one indifferent.”

The playfully surrealist design approach Paloma + Oscar dreamed up for their big day wove together its powdered wigs, giant piñatas, medieval history, and heart-shaped mylar balloons into one seamless + unforgettable experience. Think knights in shining armor on sparkly, bubblegum-colored steeds.

The pink statement aisle. The shimmering space-age metallic silver drapery. The candelabras and dramatic, hazy lighting of the mixed-era reception inside the monastery’s church. This wedding was a romantic, futuristic fever dream with a fairytale heart. 

“Everything was beautifully captured thanks to the incredible images by The Richters,” bride Paloma says. “I can’t stop smiling when I see them, because they perfectly convey the amazing vibe and magic of that day. It was an absolutely incredible wedding!”

“Instead of a bouquet, I carried a fabric flower in fuchsia mikado designed by Carmen from Níkua Floral,” remembers Paloma. “Something unique and very special.”

The Pink + Silver Ceremony

Elegant Events Music supplied a string quartet decked out in matching metallic silver gowns and towering powdered wigs for a baroque futurist vibe.

“The ceremony took place in the botanical garden of the monastery,” recalls the couple.

“The contrast between the backdrop and the organic floral arrangements from De Bohemia in vibrant fuchsia tones created a setting worthy of a fashion runway.”

So in love with Paloma’s powder pink rhinestone-adorned wedding nails.

“For my dress, I trusted Santi, the designer from the Compte label,” Paloma says. “He captured exactly what I was looking for: a perfect blend of antiquity and modernity.”

The slouchy off-the-shoulder removable sleeves really did complete Paloma’s structured ceremony look. Incorporate a pair of bridal gloves with a strapless wedding dress to create a similar silhouette!

“Óscar opted for a classic tuxedo from La Trajería—elegant and perfect for our late-afternoon, evening wedding,” Paloma remembers. “His look fit seamlessly into the sophisticated and magical atmosphere we envisioned for the day.”

Just Married!

“During the cocktail hour, a string quartet provided the perfect ambiance,” the couple says, “and everything was impeccably orchestrated to align with our 18th-century futuristic concept.”

“I complemented my look with fuchsia wedding heels from The Attico,” Paloma recalls, “which became the key element of the color palette, and pink crystal hoop wedding earrings from Swarovski, adding a touch of sparkle.”

The Reception: Metallic Maximalism Meets Medieval Banquet

“The dinner was held in the monastery’s old church, an impressive space where the side chapels were draped with silver curtains,” say Paloma + Oscar.

“All the lighting, in shades of white and fuchsia, along with hundreds of candles placed in candelabras covered with fabrics, created an absolutely incredible and unique atmosphere.”

You better believe this visionary, fashion-forward bride had a stunning reception dress outfit changed planned!

Events & Style outfitted the space with its medieval banquet style setup and shiny silver-covered guest seating.

Candles from Santeu flickered in ornate antique candelabras all throughout the tablescapes.

We love that both the bride + the groom entered the reception rocking playful pairs of funky heart frame sunglasses.

“The entire wedding menu was vegan, as we share this philosophy of life and wanted to share it with all the guests,” Paloma + Oscar say of the reception feast by El Poblet Events, “demonstrating that you can have an amazing meal at a 100% vegan wedding.”

“My second outfit had a more futuristic vibe,” Paloma reflects. “I chose a corset and skirt set by my favorite Dutch designer, Tess Van Zalinge, which I paired with silver wedding boots from Staud. It was a bold, fun, and completely carefree look that reflected another side of my personality—more daring and modern.”

“To top off our celebration, we decided to swap the traditional cake-cutting for something different: a piñata cake!” say the bride + groom of this towering pink + white custom creation from from Piñatas Personalidadas. “With a silver bat in hand and to the rhythm of ‘Temperature’ by Sean Paul, we kicked off the party by breaking it open.”

“It was an unforgettable moment, full of laughter and energy.”
