Keidra first saw Ryan on the way to school one day in Brooklyn, New York, riding on the B8 bus. It wasn’t until later—when they were both at City Tech College—that they connected through mutual friends, exchanged some messages, and made it official in 2013.
“While dating we would always show up in matching outfits,” the couple remembers fondly. “The year of our 10 year anniversary we tied the knot in the Dominican Republic.”
For their destination celebration in Punta Cana, Keidra + Ryan collaborated with planners + event designers from LUXWED Events to create a glam + beachy black tie celebration at Pearl Beach Club. The vibe was modern, clean cut chic and the colors were blacks, whites, and metallic details with playful pops of color worked in.

Keidra started the day in this hot pink stunner of a getting ready robe from VTABi.

“My gown, with its delicate feathers trailing in an A-line look at the front of the gown from leg down, and adorning my wrists, was a symbol of the unique angelic touch I had envisioned for my special day,” says Keidra of her show stopping dress by Walone Fashion Group.
“The detachable skirt added a touch of versatility. My gown corset was made of rhinestones which had pearl beading that extended down into a pearl beaded lace until the knee of my dress.”
“I ditched the flowers and had a bouquet of feathers to finish the look. Completing my ensemble were my Aiandeva Brown Sugar earrings and Badgley Mishka shoes that added a touch of sophistication to my overall look.”
“I would never forget my seamstress who made some unique changes that perfected my look, Remy Vera Couture.”

The First Look
Our Favorite Memory
There were truly no parts to forget.
Our first look was perfection. We did not share details of our looks throughout planning only the non negotiable so when we first saw each other and realized we complemented each other so well it sealed the deal that it was truly meant to be.
Our wedding ceremony was filled with 150+ of our guests that took the time to fly out from the USA & Trinidad & Tobago to the Dominican Republic, not to mention they also had a color scheme. Ladies wore gold or champagne and men in bow tied black suits or tuxedoes.
Cocktail hour was perfect everyone enjoyed a dance party to sax and drums near the Pearl Beach Club pool and shot wall which included alcoholic & non alcoholic shots for everyone to enjoy.
Our reception was unforgettable! Our wedding planner executed our vision so well, everyone had custom menus including the kids in attendance, the dance floor had our logo and we sat in front of our last name wall sign. Not to mention the ombre florals and different table scapes, the cake and lighting and sound effects.
The Ceremony

Let it represent you both!!
Hire great photography & videography. Do not skimp on photography and videography. BOYKO was tremendous. They did not a miss a detail. Memories must be captured well, so choose the best like we did.
Hire a wedding planner to execute your ideas
As an educator I enjoyed having children at our wedding to share our day with them, we even created a coloring activity book for their goodie bag of activities that mimicked the wedding week.
Repurpose if you can, let your planner know you want to repurpose ceremony items in the reception space as long as it’s possible.
Not only did GB Sounds take care of all things sound, they also saw to the assembly of this elaborate, structural lighting + drapery setup.
Keidra, Ryan, and their team put together a top notch team of rental vendors (Isabella Event Rental, ALR Eventos, Brimela, and Creative Punta Cana) to bring this modern-yet-ornate reception vibe to life.
