Megan and Nick are a husband-wife design team that only wanted to plan a wedding if they could completely re-design the rules and make their community a key part of the day… So that’s exactly what they did! We love that one of their big elements was having all their guests wear white – to symbolize their collective love for them and their equality of love for all of them. And this also makes for such a rad visual for the day! The bride and groom wore sparkles and salmon, and wait until you see the reception space!
El Faro Beach Club in Baja California set the tone for this monumental day for the couple. Wanderlust Weddings truly set the tone with event design while also planning each step along the way. LA76 Photography perfectly captured this ceremony on the sand and we cannot wait for you all to see these photos! Such a dreamy day that we know you’re going to love…let’s take a look!
A Golden Moment
We wasted no time asking the bride where she found this gorgeous two-piece golden dress!
“I went to two local boutiques and tried on dresses on, but I wasn’t connecting with any of the white dresses. I knew I didn’t want color, but I wanted something different since we were asking everyone else to wear white. I honed in on sparkles after seeing Chosen by KYHA on Instagram. They had just discontinued the skirt I really wanted so I went hunting on Stillwhite.com and found a bridal studio in Australia who had 1 new one left. We consulted via Whatsapp, she put it on and sent me videos of her twirling, and I decided to buy it plus two coordinating tops without ever trying any of it on. It was definitely a risk, but the reward was absolutely worth it!”
We’re forever fans of the first look!
This venue is so beautiful and is only a portion of what’s to come…keep reading!
Nick wore a salmon-colored suit and the bride was full of sparkles!! We absolutely love her gold wedding look.
An Interactive Wedding Ceremony
Upon arrival, guests were given a maraca and a glass of wine or champagne. The couple asked everyone to shake them while they walked down the aisle, during key moments in the ceremony, to get the couple to kiss at the dinner table, and to dance with on the dance floor. M + N didn’t want their community to just observe their day, but to feel connected and a key part of the experience!
100 people formed a human aisle to walk through (we are obsessed!!)
The Mariachi band played Somewhere Over the Rainbow for the processional.
Megan’s best friend walked her down the aisle, symbolizing the communities approval of the couple’s union.
The couple asked everyone to stand in a large circle for the ceremony because they wanted to be surrounded by their love while they declared their love!
We both loved standing at the center of our circle. It was an electric feeling of our love and everyone else's, for us and each other. We like to be social connectors and this felt like the epitome of that value for us.
Absolutely loving this wedding ceremony and how the two incorporated their wedding party! It makes celebrating much more intimate and ensures everyone is present!
A Reception in the Sand
Um… absolutely stunning is an understatement?!
The couple had one long table in the sand with pillows and rugs as chairs, everyone was at the wedding party table making it even more special!!
If you need us, we’ll be daydreaming about this beachy reception. 💭
The couple asked everyone to wear white. To symbolize their collective love for the two and their equality of love for all of them.
Loving this picnic-style reception dinner? Because we are!!
The After Party
Absolutely stunning!! (And this dress?! WOW! 🤩 ) A huge congrats to these two on planning a ceremony that was perfectly them and that got their guests in on all the action!
