There might be some happy summer memories behind the name of NYC-based wedding planner and event designer Amy’s company Poppy + Lynn.
“When I was in college, I spent a few months living in the South of France in a region called Lacoste,” says Amy. “It was springtime, and the poppy fields were in full bloom toward the tail end of my time there, and they were just breathtaking.”
When Amy was struck with the inspiration for this whimsical editorial shoot at Brooklyn’s Carroll Hall, she had those gorgeous Lacoste poppy fields on her mind. “I have always been so inspired by that region and came up with the idea for this shoot after reminiscing of picnics spent in the poppy fields. I imagined an intimate wedding outdoors in a peaceful garden, full of poppies and color, eating fresh food and having great conversation with the people closest to you.”
Amy assembled a team of local vendors including photographer Karina Mekel and florist Floral Designs by Sofie to make her magical French memories come to life in the form of this editorial wedding shoot!
Let’s take a peek!!

These romantic invitations and paper goods made with designs from Pulp Templates Co. on Etsy are giving total French country picnic vibes.
A Dreamy Ceremony Setup

Floral Designs by Sofie filled the shoot with bright orange bud vases of poppies and ranunculus. Loving the simplicity of these aisle-lining blooms.

How perfect are these towering silk poppies that planner Amy sourced herself!?

So romantic!! Real Brooklyn-based couple Nic + Jack modeled for this editorial.

Nic’s floral print Twisted Tailor suit beige wool from ASOS looks incredible paired with their pale pink bow-neck shirt!!

Jack’s pine green slim suit from ASOS is bringing so much airy, springtime energy.

Obsessed with Jack’s blush loafers! Check out this similar Kurt Geiger London pair from Nordstrom.

An Al Fresco Feast

Big Dawg Party Rentals supplied this rustic light-wood guest seating setup.

Green toile dinnerware from Zara Home brought some pattern to this garden-inspired tablescape. Also, loving the mustard linen napkins!

Jillicious Foods was the catering mind behind that yummy charcuterie board 😍

This magnificent vintage-meets-abstract wedding cake was the work of Miel New York City.

The style game is SO strong. Check out our breakdown of unique suit ideas if rocking a suit feels right for you.

Perfect Portraits

Facetime Beauty was in charge of all things hair on the day.

Loving the delicate texture of Jack’s pink button down.

Event designer and planner Amy styled these two in their looks from ASOS! “We wanted to make sure that even though there were two suits, it felt like each model had their own distinct style. We kept color at the forefront yet in a cohesive, elegant form.”

Nic + Jack wore rings from Goldpoint Jewelry, a local Brooklyn jeweler with a stunning line of gender neutral wedding bands and engagement rings. Planner Amy says: “They were perfect for the editorial and showed that diamonds are for everyone!”

GOTTA love a floral pocket square!

We adore this super-charming video that Amelia Frances created for this shoot.
So glad event designer Amy tapped into her happy poppy memories to create this, whimsical, inclusive, French-countryside-inspired editorial!! C’est Magnifique!
