Some couples are simply meant to be – as are Annastasia & Josh. The beautiful couple found themselves having similar interests, values, and a shared love of God. Add on their undeniable chemistry, and a wedding is bound to happen! The two took to Toccoa, Georgia to say their vows in an intimate and intentional 20-person ceremony. Every element was perfectly curated to represent Annastasia and Josh’s relationship to a T.
Annastasia, a florist, decided early on in the wedding planning process that beautiful flowers would be a must. She trusted the talented florist behind The Wild Thistle to create displays of wildflowers all throughout the wedding – including at the waterfall site! Photographer Nicole Kiesling expertly nailed their wedding photos; showing raw depth and emotion in every last one.
Waterfalls & Wildflowers
A florist deserves nothing but the best flowers on her wedding day, even in her earrings! These one-of-a-kind dried floral earrings made a gorgeous, sentimental statement on Annastasia’s wedding day.
The bride looked as pretty as can be! She wore a feminine, floral wedding dress from Willowby by Watters. If you’re looking for the exact one she wore, it was Lilia!
I went on BHLDN to be inspired. I ended up finding my dreamy, beautifully unique, intricately designed dress and ordered it in two sizes. We had a four-month engagement, so time was tight! One of them fit perfectly and I didn’t even need alterations! So, my ‘yes to the dress’ moment happened in my one-bedroom apartment at the time with my mama by my side.
The flower girls looked positively pretty in their matching blue dresses and flower crowns.
Look at these groomsmen’s outfits! Not to mention the man of the hour, himself! We thought the causal look couldn’t be any cooler, but the waterfall takes this shot over the top.
It’s no secret that the florals are one of our favorite parts of this wedding, and it all starts with the bouquet! Annastasia’s flowers were bursting with color and life – just like her relationship with Josh. And just wait until you see the floral cake display!
Taking Vows
Processional: Evangeline by Josh Garrels
Recessional: Steam by Leon Bridges
First Dance: I've Been Loving You Too Long by Otis Redding
Wildflowers lightly lined the aisle that Josh and Annastasia would walk down. They’re just the prettiest!
Congratulations to the happy newlyweds!
BUH, there are so many. I loved our sweet little wedding day & every aspect of it. I know that is so cheesy, but it's true! It seriously was everything & more than we could have ever imagined. I think the weightiness of the ceremony & the beauty of entering into a covenant with my husband before The Lord & all of our beloved was so surreal. Being surrounded by such magnificence [the waterfall] and being reminded of God's greatness, hand in hand with making that covenant is still overwhelming. I am still in awe of God's goodness, through our wedding day.
Field of Dreams
A mirrored seating chart looked simple and stunning against the nature-filled backdrop. A simple easel and some wildflowers did just the trick to make a huge statement.
This is the sweetheart table of our dreams! It’s a true example of how less is more (except when it comes to flowers, of course…)
Oh man, give yourself more than four months! Just joking. Lean into each moment, even when it feels overwhelming as heck. It all works out & it's usually not how you imagined. God's hand was totally in our wedding planning process & we are SO thankful that we got to celebrate our big day when we did because we were able to do it with our precious mama [in law] before she unexpectedly went to be with her Maker. We are so beyond grateful now for the rapid planning timeline that we had, because if we had waited a few more months, the dream of mama Faye seeing her eldest son walk down the aisle might not have been our reality. So, in those moments that you just feel so totally overwhelmed, lean on those around you who support and love you, & keep pushing forward. And remember, your wedding day does not determine your marriage! You can still have a beautiful marriage, even if your wedding day doesn't necessarily go as expected. :)
Those on the intimate list of invitees were treated to a lovely and memorable day. Between the coffee and mimosa bars, barbecue lunch menu, and nature-filled surroundings, the whole day was an immaculate experience.
The inspiration for our wedding day was honestly asking ourselves, what would reflect God’s face the most? We wanted it to be in nature, basking in the natural beauty, surrounded by our most beloved. We longed for the day to be as authentically ‘us,’ as possible.
This floral cake display is AH-MAZING! We haven’t seen anything like it! If you’ve ever felt like wedding cake wasn’t your thing, this may just change your mind.
Enjoy each & every moment of your ‘big day’. That advice was given to us and we really tried to own it. By taking moments to look at the waterfall rushing over the side of the cliff, or peering behind us, smiling, & seeing our family and friends rallied around us. Or just listening deeply to the words being spoken and prayed over us! It was all so sacred and I am so grateful to have been able to be fully present for it. Take time for you and your new lifelong love throughout the day, people can wait! The day is about y’all and is a seriously joyous celebration.
