Kayoko and David wanted to create the most fun color-filled weekend for their guests to enjoy. They rented out Villa Royale in Palm Springs for the wedding – and all their friends and family stayed there as well! From the welcome party with a margarita + taco truck to the colorful wedding day to the day after pool party with an In-n-Out truck, they didn’t skip a beat!
The couple met as co-workers at a technology start-up so many of the guests were mutual friends and co-workers. Even the officiant was a former coworker who’s become a close friend of both the bride and groom. It was the groom’s dream to have the guests all stay in one place – which made sense since nearly everyone knew each other! The Villa Royale was the perfect venue for this and allowed the couple to throw a 3-day party!

The Bridal Party
These girls look ready for the day ahead! And SO cute in their matching GWS floral fringe robes! We asked the beautiful bride to share a little bit about finding this gorgeous Tal Kedem dress!
“I had my eyes set on a dress by an Israeli designer and planned a trip down to LA with my bridesmaids to try on dresses. I had called the store 4 times to make sure that they were going to have the designer’s dresses the week I was there but of course, upon arriving, I was disappointed to hear that they didn’t have any of the ones I had called about. This is where my maid of honor sprung into action, picking out several dresses that she thought were like the photos I showed her to try and turn around the day. It worked! The very first dress she picked out was the one and I knew it the moment I put it on. Walking down the aisle in a dress your best friend picked out for you made our wedding day even more special.”
First looks aren’t just for grooms! It looks like Kayoko’s bridesmaids were equally as excited to see her in her gown!
Kayoko surprised David by playing his favorite love song “Can’t Help Falling in Love” when she walked up to meet him so he was crying his eyes out when he first saw her!
This couple invited their furry friend to join the pre-wedding festivities! …The pup looks just as happy to be there as the humans!
The Colorful Wedding Party
The wedding was in the desert, which can, of course, get preettttyyy hot! So K + D wanted guests to be stylish but comfortable: “desert chic”.
These ladies totally nailed the mismatched bridesmaid dresses look! Each wearing their own bold color added a fun pop to the summery desert wedding!

“We made our wedding our own by focusing on what we liked and enjoyed and what made us happy. Palm Springs was a location we both enjoyed before and after we started dating. We still enjoy going and love everything about the city.
Kicking Off the Party!
Early in their relationship, Kayoko and David bonded over discussing their personality types with one another. Most of their guests (& co-workers) know their Myer Briggs because they use it at work all the time. So when it came time to designing their wedding, they knew they had to incorporate the Myer Briggs personality test into their wedding in some way. The couple ended up creating a seating chart display with a “Personality is Key” heading. The display listed all the tables and guests’ seating assignments with all the tables named after different personality types – INFP (the mediator), INTP (the logician) and so on. When guests went to find their table, instead of looking for their table number, they had to find their Myer Briggs Personality type instead! So cool, right?!
Details, Darling absolutely nailed all aspects of planning and the entire event design!
The gorgeous pops of pink and orange truly stand out against the white and wooden furniture. Not to mention the dreamy twinkle light tent covering the reception space that brought an extra element of romance!
Layered Vintage filled each table with lots of colorful florals that we will surely be dreaming about! This tablescape is simply….chefs kiss!
A Pop of Pink!
Father of the Groom, Tom, gave a hilarious speech roasting David for the fact that Kayoko holds all the power in their (very loving) relationship.
