Jacob and Madeleine created a wedding that was uniquely them. Color explosion and bunnies were their wedding day theme. Yep, mossy bunnies were placed throughout the entire reception! Madeline had said that bunnies were her favorite animal and made sure to incorporate them as much as possible. We love when couples do them! Dream Weddings ensured that rich, vibrant colors were everywhere, from the velvet and silk bridesmaid’s dresses, the modern spring reception tables, and most notably the one-of-a-kind ombre floral arch designed by Briar Loft. All the colors came together gorgeously to create a feeling of warmth and happiness.
The dress code for the day was Greenhouse Semi-Formal. Jacob and Madeleine loved making up a unique dress code and seeing what creative, luxe, garden inspired attire their guests wore. They tossed donut holes into each other mouths, cheers-ed under an ombré floral arch, ordered late night cheese curds, and danced their hearts out to the most bumping wedding playlist ever (Mr. Brightside and Dancing On My Own, obviously were some of the hits!!). This sensational, vibrant wedding was everything Jacob and Madeline had dreamed of and more. Photographer O&B Photo Co. expertly captured this perfect day in their photos, and the couple will forever be grateful. Let’s take a peek!
Where The Day Began

The Tinsmith in Madison, Wisconsin was the perfect setting for this garden-luxe wedding!

Madeleine and Jacob shared the absolute sweetest first look. The smile on their faces is what makes weddings so worthwhile!

We love when not only does the groom get a first look… because these bridesmaids are ALL for it!

This perfectly pink wedding dress is SO gorgeous and we asked bride Madeleine if she’d share the story of how she found it!
“I knew I wanted something colorful and unique but was having trouble finding what I was looking for in bridal boutiques so I turned to the web. When I found Teuta Matoshi’s gorgeous gowns on Instagram I knew that was exactly the vibe I was going for. My parents and I scoured her website and finally settled on the Blooming Glamour Gown. The colors worked perfectly with our palette and I loved all of the texture and details. When I received my dress and tried it on I could not believe how perfect it was. It only required a few alterations and I loved the way it moved on my wedding day.”

These bold florals are too pretty for words! The breath of life they bring to this already colorful wedding is to die for!

Groom Jacob stands out in a deep forest green suit amongst his groomsmen, looking dapper in tan!

M + J wanted their wedding to be whimsical, lighthearted, and above all else, fun. Because their wedding was in the spring, they wanted it to be a color explosion, bursting with vibrant colored flowers, mossy bunnies, gnomes, colorful fashion, and a lush greenhouse venue. Can we just say… they NAILED it!

We are LOVING Madeleine’s hair! That braid is just perfect with her dress!!
Saying ‘I Do’

Processional: Halo by Beyonce (played by 2 friends on guitar!)
Recessional: Someday by The Strokes
First Dance: Jesus Etc. by Wilco

“We wanted to make sure our ceremony reflected us as a couple, so it was full of humor and tv references. Madeleine’s brother officiated and kept the guests laughing, and even led a community blessing where he asked the guests to say “hell yeah” if they supported our marriage (and they all responded with an enthusiastic HELL YEAH).“

What better way to celebrate than with a quick swig of beer!

Happily Ever After

We adore a groom in a floral tie!!

On their wedding day, it ended up snowing which turned out to be a beautiful contrast to the color palette!!

These groomsmen are just KILLING it in their rust suits! If you are looking for suits for your groomsmen, we got you!

The Reception Details

This simple tablescape is brought to life with pops of mustard yellow… and those adorable moss bunnies we were talking about!

Love the idea of a floral arch? So do we!! I mean who wouldn’t when they look as good as this!

For dessert, we served donuts and instead of a traditional cake cutting, we decided to do a ceremonial donut hole toss in which Madeleine would toss a donut hole into Jacob’s mouth from across the room. We had practiced a few times in the weeks leading up to the wedding, but after a miss on the first try we started to get a little nervous that we weren’t going to be able to pull it off. When Jacob caught the donut hole on the second try, the crowd jumped to their feet and erupted into applause. Jacob ran over to Madeleine and picked her up and swung her around; it was such a happy, triumphant moment.

The couple wanted to incorporate Jacob’s vegetarianism by having a fully vegetarian menu. The couple made sure the DJ played only the hits that kept guests on the dance floor, and finished the night off with cheese curds to give guests an authentic taste of Wisconsin!

Looks like the guests really went for the greenhouse semi-formal attire!

Trust your instincts! If you and your partner think something is a fun idea, your guests probably will too. Your wedding is a day for YOU so consider creating some new traditions and skipping those that don’t feel right. Don’t sweat the small stuff - if it snows, it snows; if you drop the donut, you drop the donut.

Congratulations to Madeleine and Jacob! Your wedding day was truly exceptional, and we wish you a lifetime of love and happiness!
