A Modern, Coastal Greenhouse Wedding Full of Warm Colors and Multicultural Details

When Avreeta + Mike first met in 2015, they had no idea that four years later they’d wind up in the wedding party together when their best friends got married to each other. Bridesmaid Avreeta + groomsman Mike walked away from that wedding with some serious butterflies. The two fell in love, and one wedding led to another!

When the time came to plan their own wedding, Avreeta + Mike envisioned something that felt coastal and modern, embraced some traditional Indian wedding elements, and incorporated lots of bright colors throughout.

“I wanted the space to feel warm and inviting, but still feel magical,” says bride Avreeta. So the couple paired up with event designers and planners from TH INC. Weddings & Events to bring their colorful, coastal vision to life at Dos Pueblos Orchid Farm just outside of Santa Barbara, California—the perfect spot for the wedding they’d been dreaming up.

The ceremony bluffs at Dos Pueblos Orchid Farm overlook the Pacific coastline and are the perfect spot to catch a stunning sunset, so Avreeta + Mike leaned into warm sunset tones—oranges, yellows, and pinks—to play off of the earthy + industrial neutrals of the venue and surrounding landscape.

The whole day was colorful, multicultural magic, and thanks to Heirlume Photography’s stunning photos we get to give you a look at how it all came together!

A vision in glittery gold!! Have you ever seen anything more stunning?! “For me, the attire was an important feature of an Indian wedding that I’ve always dreamt about,” says Avreeta. “Typical Indian weddings have the brides dressed in bright colors, usually red or pink. More recent modern Indian brides have shifted to neutral colors. I thought it would be unique to blend the cultures (white western dress color with a traditional Indian wedding gown). So I chose the off white/gold gown.”

This beading! 😍 Avreeta found her shimmering gold and crystal embellished Indian bridal gown and dupatta at Mirage by SAMAR on a special shopping trip with her mom, maid of honor, and aunts.

Our Favorite Memory From The Wedding

From the bride: "Definitely our ceremony. It was partly the most stressful part in planning. We wanted to create a true cultural hybrid by pulling parts of a traditional Indian wedding that were important to me, while still making it personal, by having Michael's cousin officiate the ceremony. Sharing our vows in front of our loved ones was very emotional for me. It came together better than I could have imagined."

Our Advice To Those Planning Now

From the bride: "On the day of, Michael and I made it a point to connect with one another during many intervals throughout the day. Each time we met, we would take a deep breath and take in the moment together. It's easy to get pulled in so many directions on the wedding day, talking to multiple family members and friends, that before you know it, the night is over. This helped us stay connected and feel like we were sharing the experience together. "
