We are tickled pink with this Barbie dream wedding! The bride has always been known for her quirky style and taste and wanted to go maximalist in the biggest way. Hot pink EVERYTHING! From a fully decked out bridal party, to a personalized “celebrity couple” name sign, to an epically dramatic dress… there were SO many beautiful moments that we are so stoked to share with you!
To Be Loved Events helped couple Sophie + Joe plan their picture perfect day that was effortlessly captured by photographer Carmen Lopez. We won’t make you wait a moment longer…let’s get to it!

First Looks
Okay can we talk about this gorgeous dress?! We asked Sophie to tell us about how she found “the one”:
“I tried on close to 175 dresses at boutiques in LA, San Diego, and Vermont. When I found the Rita Vinieris dress at Lovella Bridal I was stoked. It was incredibly cool, super lightweight, very fashion forward and no one has bought it since I had last September. I was alone at my dress appointment with my consultant Sydney and I’m sure she was shocked when I said “I would like to buy this one” since I barely had any emotion. I just knew – no waterworks, just that I was going to be the coolest dressed person at the party. My family only saw a few photos before the wedding, and I had my friend Allie come to the fitting appointment where I actually didn’t have to alter it beyond a quick front hem and steaming. It was a Cinderella dress and so cool.”
Who said first looks were only for the groom?! It looks like Sophie’s bridal party loved the dress reveal!
Bride Sophie shared that while she couldn’t convince Joe to flaunt a pink attire, she loved his custom made suit:
“He may have looked better than me at some points but totally worth it!”
I think it’s safe to say that Joe found Sophie’s look… jaw dropping!

The Stylish Bridal Party
Located in the center of Palm Springs, the Ace Hotel was the perfect venue for this couple’s luxurious day!
These pink mismatched bridesmaid dresses are *chef’s kiss* !!

Oh the drama! Seems like the bride also rocked her own sunglasses moment.

It’s official!
Sophie + Joe’s inspiration and main focus for the day was: fun!
“We kept asking ourselves ‘will we have fun?’ And more importantly ‘will our guests have fun?’ This is not a helpful budgeting tool, but so worth it. Also, Sophie had asked Joe to wear a pink suit, and since that didn’t happen the entire wedding morphed into a pink only wedding which was a total hoot.”
For Sophie: it’s split between my Father daughter dance with my Dad when he asked “how many wedding photographers do you have?” With which I responded “there are two photographers and a team of videographers” and he replied “wow” in the same fashion as Owen Wilson’s infamous “wow”. Then finally finishing the night by jumping in the pool with my husband, to LMFAO Party Rock Anthem and seeing all my friends jump in with their party clothes on. So cool.
For Joe: I was late to my mother son dance, so my brother stepped in for a moment only to be interrupted by a smooth shoe slide in right between them. It was much like Risky Business but with pants on.

A Reception For the Books
We love how this tablescape effortlessly incorporates the color pallet without overdoing it. The different pink hues in the florals perfectly compliment the bright napkins and muted candles.
Cutting a delicious pink cake from Over the Rainbow Desserts calls for an outfit change!
Talk to vendors about your budget ahead of time. We had thought we were on the same page with a different planning company when we were blindsided by the cost and planning expectations because it was so different from what we thought going in. Samantha was so upfront and honest that it made things really easy and stress free.
Your guest list should have people that you know, love, and can dance. Dancing was an absolute hoot, and doing that with people we love is a feeling like no other.
Book your vendors because you love them, it will make a huge difference. Having some vendors play the mom card, or give you tough advice was really helpful. Things ran smoothly and Joe and I were able to pour our trust in them which made the day more stress free.
This looks like a still straight out of a rom-com! We cannot be more thrilled for Sophie + Joe and wish you both nothing but the best!
