Many love stories have trials and tribulations along the way, but Megan and Arneil have faced obstacles that many couples won’t experience in a lifetime. In September of 2020, just two months before their originally scheduled wedding date, Megan was diagnosed with breast cancer. Though they planned to get married in Tulum after COVID concerns dwindled down, the two were ready to be married. After several rounds of chemotherapy, surgery, and radiation, the couple finally wed on their 13-year anniversary in October of 2021!
We wanted to keep things really simple by just signing papers at the courthouse with just our parents. Our moms signed our license and we knew we wanted to have a fun photoshoot to celebrate.
And celebrate they did! Photographer Michelle Roller perfectly captured every loving and joyful moment between the couple. Megan and Arneil frolicked together around beautiful Santa Barabara and made memories that will last them a lifetime. Cheers to the bride and groom!
Leather and Tulle
Non-traditional weddings call for non-traditional attire! Arneil and Megan knew they wanted their outfits to make a statement, and they definitely succeeded! The bride wore a pink layered tulle dress while the groom wore all-black with a leather jacket. But wait – it gets better! Arneil later changed into a purple suit you HAVE to see!
I honestly didn’t know what kind of dress I wanted in the beginning. I originally wanted a traditional short, cute white dress but realize that wasn’t me. I went to an Untamed Petals sample sale with a friend and saw the dress I got and knew immediately that this is the dress I want to wear! It was so fun, had so much personality and I loved the color! It was also very comfy, which is a plus!
Just because there weren’t guests doesn’t mean you can’t have a bouquet! Megan sported a beautiful bouquet of classic pink and white roses.
We love it when a bride pairs wedding boots with her dress!
We told you the suit was amazing! How someone chooses to dress on their wedding day says so much about their personality, which is why we’re loving the groom’s choice to rock some color.
If you are looking for a colorful wedding dress, we got you as well!
Have you ever seen a more beautiful courthouse?!
Both of our moms messed up signing our marriage license and we found that to be hilarious!
With a wedding in Tulum to follow in just a few months, the couple had creative freedom to go wild with their elopement choices. Relieving the pressure of pleasing a large group of guests allowed the couple the space to enjoy the simple pleasure of finally being married.
Remember at the end of the day, the wedding is about you as a couple. Don’t get peer pressured by friends or family members to do certain things. Also, please hire a coordinator and make sure that coordinator fits your style. Don’t take things too seriously and have fun with your person. And don't forget to hire a photographer that you connect with! Your photos will be with you forever and you want every moment captured.
Congratulations to Megan and Arneil! We wish you a lifetime of joy!
