Whomever was the first to call New Mexico “enchanting” had it right—it’s the land of perfect light and, apparently, perfect land for farming flowers! Today’s bride, Emily, is a florist who’s creations are farmed with love from seed to bloom. Eli + Emily were married on a cotton farm adjacent to Emily’s grandparent’s home + their flower farm, a piece of land extremely important to Emily and her family. For The Love designed a day as magical as the land itself. Emily shares:
We both have deep roots in our environment and in agriculture. Eli is an avid outdoorsman, and I am a fourth-generation farmer, It was important to us to communicate the beauty of agriculture and the unique environment of the desert southwest through a formal setting. We threw around a lot of terms like, “formal agrarian” and “heritage botanical.” Eli and I began our relationship around this farm and it was fitting for us to say our vows where it all began. We wanted to show our guests, most of whom were from out of state, the enchanting elegance and vibrancy of the New Mexico landscape, food and culture.
Elizabeth Wells Photography captured all that vibrancy in gorgeous photos from the day!
The Bridal Party
Sleek and stunning! Emily’s KAREN WILLIS HOLMES gown was perfect for the outdoor ceremony!
Emily is the founder of Floriography, a team of florists who specialize in crafting unique arrangements from locally grown flowers—they even have a farm of their own! Isn’t her bouquet just perfect?
Genica Lee gave the ladies those gorgeous glam updos!
Emily + Eli married at the beautiful Esslinger Farms in view of cotton fields, the Organ Mountains, and one seriously amazing painted silo.
Emily curated her own alter vignettes from cotton branches, pampas grass, and chile ristra–trademark decor to New Mexico. Meanwhile, guests looked on from vintage couches, heirloom family benches, and hay bails.
Sooo many memorable moments! I'd say its a tie between taking a moment in our ceremony for quiet reflection before our vows with sound bowls played by our friend Aimee and the absolute blast we had jumping in the inflatable bounce house at our reception.
Newlyweds at Golden Hour
Don’t they look just amazing??
Rust Vintage provided stand out pieces for that rustic-southwestern vibe.
The dance floor was hand painted!
Each place setting set atop a leather charger from Magic Hour Marfa, with natural elements from the farm to tie it all together.
I'd suggests regrouping every few months during the planning process to check in with your original goals and budget. It's easy to let things get off base, particularly with vision and budget, and it's good to check in with each other to make sure you are making decisions because you want to and not because you should.
Such an enchanting day! All our congrats to Eli + Emily!
