Sally and Phil’s wedding was the classic 2020 saga – three different dates and many changes to the details as they navigated from Summer to Spring to Fall. (Thanks COVID!) However, what never changed was their deep love for their community, and Sally’s amazingly eclectic style…which we know you are going to fall in love with!
Planner and event designer Riley with Riley Loves Lulu made sure this rustic wonderland wedding ran smoothly while Charlotte and Daughters provided the most stunning floral design! Let’s take a peek at this winery wedding that was so beautifully captured by Kindred Weddings!
Welcome to the Wilderness

We just love their custom Save the Dates by Sterling Designs Studios! They featured a plane (the groom is a pilot) and a runner (the bride) with the venue as the backdrop – I mean, how sweet is that?!

We asked Sally to share a little bit about finding her perfect dress!
“I’m sure a common lament amongst COVID brides: I purchased my dress in November 2019 and waited 2 years to wear it. This resulted in a couple “oh s%^! do I even like this dress anymore?!” moments, but ultimately I’m happy I kept it. My general style is colorful and pattern-filled, but I went with something timeless. What made it the most special was that I got to wear my Grandmother’s diamond necklace (that was featured on Antiques Roadshow!) and bracelets from Phil and my family.”

While the bride went for a timeless gown, she surely got her colorful and pattern-filled fix with her open-toed shoes!

“Our inspiration stemmed from things and people we love; we wanted it to be a true encapsulation of us. This spanned big practical decisions like making sure our nearest and dearest could all stay in a nearby hotel, to small design elements like having a close friend create watercolor tarot cards of our favorite places to gift to guests. Aesthetically, I love colorful, vibrant things. Our planners and I joked that I had a Palm Springs style that I wanted to fit into a rustic winery venue. We were obsessed with how they made everything work, it fit perfectly.”

Let There Be Color!

Sally was surrounded by her very best gals on her wedding day, all dressed in stunning mismatched bridesmaid dresses! We told you there’d be vibrant colors! 😍

Now this is a wedding party we want to be a part of!

Wide Open Space…For Love!

Wow oh WOW! S + P are the only couple to get married at their specific ceremony location at Campovida in Hopland, CA. The week before their wedding a huge storm came in and getting married under the oak tree that is the venue’s most popular location was not safe due to falling branches. Sally and Phil didn’t identify with the more vineyard vibes of the back-up location, but walking the property with their event manager, they found an amazing lawn overlooking a pond, and two incredible Oak Trees (with enough space for them to be set far from any falling branches). Thankfully, the couple thought it was even prettier than the original plan!

We can’t believe this wasn’t the original ceremony location, considering how beautiful these views are!

First Dance: Strawberry Swing by Coldplay

Our ceremony. Phil and I have been together for 12 years, so we felt a bit like we were already married and we were most excited for the reception (and the disco after party). We were both caught off guard by how magical and thrilling it was to stand in front of our people and recite our vows to each other. Both of us describe it as a new emotion that we had never experienced before.

After a few COVID setbacks… they did it! These two are finally husband and wife!

Time to Celebrate

If you thought the ceremony space was gorgeous, just wait until you see the reception!

A rustic lover’s dream! The mauve chairs bring color and unity to the luscious greenery, and the dangling lights and hints of florals look right out of a fairytale!

This quaint sweetheart table was the perfect space for Sally and Phil to enjoy the remainder of their big day at each other’s side.

Team #PHALLY for life! This couple had their guests leave messages in this National Parks book!

We Now Present… The Bride & Groom!

To keep warm (and stylish!) this bride brought a customized denim jacket with her for the reception! Looking to DIY for your own bridal jacket? We’ve got just the thing for you!

The Noble Folk set up the most decadent dessert table full of pies, cupcakes, and cheescake!

Be very selective of advice you take from others. Now that we're married, we're also guilty of giving unwarranted advice because we annoyingly want to talk about my wedding all the time. But everyone had their own wedding experience, and you know best what you and your partner want. Trust yourselves!

What a jaw-dropping finish to an amazing day of celebrating! A huge congrats to Sally and Phil! We wish you a lifetime of happiness!
