This Couple Said “I Do” In Front Of An Outdoor Living Room Inspired By Their Home

They say home is where the heart is… ❤️🏠

Tâm + An have built a life together that they love. More than that, they’ve built a life together full of things that feel symbolic of their love. So, when it came time to plan their wedding, the couple built their theme out of the actual pieces of their life, their story, and their home.

In doing so, they created a truly unique ceremony setup we have never ever seen before. Together with event designers + planners from The Story Packer, the creative Vietnam-based couple built a bright + colorful living room at the end of the aisle and said their vows there in front of furniture sprouting flowers, a wall full of meaningful pictures in bold + colorful frames, and, yes, even a big cozy couch! The theme’s title was a play on the couple’s names: “An Tâm Về Một Nhà” (which translated means “Coming Home Together With Peace Assured”).

And the reception? A total moody, moonlit tone shift. We can’t wait to show you.

“For their intimate celebration, the couple selected two villas at Ana Mandara Villas Dalat Resort & Spa, a hillside retreat surrounded by pine trees and lush gardens,” says Khanh Huỳnh from The Story Packer. “With its French colonial architecture, tiled roofs, warm wooden interiors, and nostalgic charm, the setting felt like a true home away from home. One villa was dedicated entirely to the vow ceremony, while another villa hosted the evening reception – creating two distinct yet connected chapters of the same story.”

There were storm clouds that interrupted the ceremony. There were seriously stunning style moments. There were super-cute paper goods designed by the groom himself. And the use of the couple’s literal home as the day’s design inspo? What a one-of-a-kind way to welcome their friends + fam into the very thing they gathered to celebrate: the life Tâm + An have created together. Luckily, HI’S WORLD captured it all on camera.

“As the night came to a close under glowing lights that felt like warm moonlight, the meaning of “Coming Home Together” extended beyond the couple to everyone present,” remembers Khanh Huỳnh.

“The day was not about perfection, but about embracing every moment, even the unexpected rain.”

You’re Invited

“What makes this celebration especially personal is that the groom, An – owner of a well-known tattoo studio in Ho Chi Minh City – designed the entire visual identity of the wedding himself,” Khanh Huỳnh shares.

“From invitations and stationery to decorative flags placed throughout the villas, every element carried his artistic imprint,” Khanh Huỳnh remembers of the home-themed paper elements that An created and had printed by Stationary Space.

“The stationery was not only visually striking but deeply narrative, inviting guests into a story about belonging and the emotional space An + Tâm have created together.”

In Love in the Living Room

“The heart of the day was the concept “An Tâm Về Một Nhà” (Coming Home Together With Peace Assured),” Khanh Huỳnh explains. “The phrase is a poetic play on their names, as “An Tâm” in Vietnamese conveys a feeling of peace and reassurance. For them, love has always been about finding comfort in what feels most familiar, and choosing to walk side by side toward the same direction.”

“Beyond a play on words, it symbolized the idea that true love feels like returning to a place of comfort and emotional safety.”

“For the vow ceremony, the space was styled as a vibrant living room.”

“A custom-made sofa for two became the centerpiece, representing rest, companionship, and the life they have built together.”

“Surrounding it were framed photographs from their journey…”

“…alongside meaningful objects reflecting shared passions, including travel helmets and a beloved lamp.”

Absolutely FLOORED by these wild + wonderful florals from J’may Wedding & Events. The way they’re climbing out of the drawers + cabinets!!

“The color palette was lively and expressive, mirroring the energy of their love story,” Khanh Huỳnh remembers of this meaningfully vibrant ceremony design.

“One of the most unforgettable moments came just before the ceremony, when a sudden rain shower passed through the resort. Instead of tension, it brought unexpected joy.”

“Guests gathered indoors, suggested simple games, and filled the villa with laughter as they waited for the rain to ease.”

“That spontaneous pause became one of the couple’s most cherished memories: a reminder that warmth comes from people, not perfect weather.“

How PRECIOUS are these house-shaped flower petal toss containers that groom An designed! “Each piece featured subtle symbols of rooms and homes, echoing the central theme,” Khanh Huỳnh says of the day’s significance-filled paper goods.

This super cute ceramic heart shaped piggy bank made perfect for collection spot for the couple’s honeymoon fund.

“The ceremony itself beautifully balanced sentiment and playfulness,” Khanh Huỳnh shares.

“The two mothers walked in first…”

“…acknowledging the quiet support that shaped the couple’s journey.”

Look at this lovely, timelessly elegant wedding gown by Lee Concept!

Love that the couple wrote their own vows ❤️ And read them from those super cute door-shaped custom vow booklets that An designed!

“The rings were delivered by two little “ring security” members, adding charm and humor,” Khanh Huỳnh says.

“The couple then created a lighthearted tradition by letting fate decide who would hold the ring box, and the bride Tâm was chosen, symbolically becoming the keeper of power in the family.”

We are so into the notion of incorporating “home” into your wedding day however you can. This high fashion queer wedding in the brides’ apartment and this timelessly whimsical wedding at the couple’s English countryside home are two of our fave examples of couples who kept their celebration connected to their own charming homes.

Khang Huỳnh had Tâm’s bleach blonde locks looking lovely in this sleek slick back wedding hairstyle.(And yes there was a look change for the reception).

Moody In The Moonlight

“In contrast [to the ceremony], the evening reception embraced a softer, warmer tone,” Khanh Huỳnh says.

“The atmosphere invited guests to gather closely, celebrate freely, and bask in a glow that felt both intimate and luminous, like a quiet evening under the moonlight.”

“That evening, the reception opened with an energetic confetti entrance alongside close friends, quickly transforming into a vibrant dance floor filled with embraces, laughter, and shared stories.”

A round of applause for those wedding gloves!! LOVING the high-contrast of the sheer black look.

Every ruffle of this dramatic strapless satin reception dress from Ragged Romances was absolute perfection.

“Music played a defining role throughout the day,” Khanh Huỳnh remembers. “The bride Tâm curated her own playlists, blending beloved K-pop tracks with modern US-UK hits, alongside timeless Vietnamese classics that resonated across generations. For the reception, she collaborated closely with the wedding planner and DJ Khang Hoàng to carefully craft the emotional flow of the night. The result was a soundtrack that reflected both personal taste and collective joy – turning the dance floor into the heartbeat of the celebration.”

It’s worth noting that projections as wedding decor is one of our FAVE trends of the moment.

SO charmed by the towering fruit-adorned design of this *berry* beautiful wedding cake.

How adorable is this??? An & Tâm’s love story started like a workplace rom-com in an elevator at the advertising agency where they both worked 🥰.

“From that fleeting encounter unfolded eight years of partnership shaped by shared creative projects, late-night conversations after work, and journeys exploring the world side by side,” Khanh Huỳnh says.
