“Antiquity with a Modern Touch” for This Chic + Dreamy Earth Tone Wedding in North Carolina

EverBe Creatives, the North Carolina-based event designers and planners behind this dreamlike wedding shoot, set out to explore the intersection of all things old + new and created some serious magic along the way.

A major inspiration for the look of this editorial? They wanted to see what would happen if they added some depth to their color scheme with colors that are “vastly underused in the wedding world:” rich browns and creams.

“We combined those colors with classic black and white for a gorgeous neutral color palette,” says EverBe, “that felt like a mix of vintage and modern day.” And that fusion of past + present was underscored by the ornate + stately venue, Oxbow Estate.

We love the grounded-yet-ethereal feel that this talented team of North Carolina vendors created with all of these earth tones and rich textures. And photographer Rae Marshall captured it all so beautifully!

These lovely rough-edge wedding invitations with swirling script and wax seal details from Jones & Lou Paper Co. felt so historic + romantic.

This asymmetrical off the shoulder structured bodice Saint Bridal Couture wedding gown from A & Bé Bridal has us absolutely speechless. So many old-world components done in such a modern way!

Wild Flora Flowers was behind the shoot’s ethereal, earthy floral design. This beige + white bridal bouquet is just one example of how the super creative ways they leaned into neutral colors.

“We went with a white bouquet with a more whimsical shape and a fuller look to add an understated luxurious touch,” says EverBe.

We’re loving the sepia-tone luxury that this brown velvet wedding suit added to the look of the day.

These shimmery gold pearl drop wedding earrings added the perfect amount of sparkle.

The Reception

“The reception table setup went with simple white linens and plates, but the twist was that it has been lit heavily with candlelight,” EverBe says of this glowy tablescape. “It gave an homage to lighting before electricity, and created a gorgeous ambiance for dinner for the guests enjoying the evening.”

“The simple black ribbon brought the design into 2024 with our lovely bow trend without overdoing it,” says EverBe. “Sometimes classic designs with unexpected twists can be the most effective of all.”

Snag a bunch of extra tall taper candles and white pillar candles to recreate the glow ✨

SO into the way the sculptural elements of this white wedding cake from LB’s Cakes emulate the asymmetry of the wedding dress’s skirt!
