With the holidays approaching and living in Southern California, backyard weddings are easy to pull off even in the winter! While traditional red and green colors are fun to decorate with, they aren’t exactly “wedding” material. This winter shoot was sent to me from the fabulous ladies at Intertwined Events.
Inspired by California’s balmy weather in November and December, they styled their shoot using their favorite comforts of Grandma’s kitchen during Christmas time. The use of peppermint, acorns, bold red accents, cozy and warm sentiments, a handmade and custom designed wardrobe and more give it that holiday vibe without screaming Christmas; there is lots of inspiration to be taken from these photos for upcoming fall + winter weddings, engagement parties and holiday family gatherings!
They also created “Recipe for a Perfect Marriage” cards in place of a guest book.
I love their “Pie in A Jar” favors! How cute are they? These little pies are perfect, individual pieces of happiness that are less ordinary than the typical cupcakes that have become so popular. They used seasonal fruits to fill them, which make them a great way to weave the holiday spirit into a wedding celebration. And, I’ll be sharing a DIY on how to create them later today on GWS!
And just loving all the ruffles on her wedding dress! Tashina Hunter is the amazing designer. Tashina designs custom dresses taking elements of vintage styles + fabrics and recreating them into a modern custom gown. So gorgeous. She is updating her website right now, but you can contact her at tashinahunter{at}gmail [dot]com.

The mini pies are the best! I think that is such a cute idea and who doesn’t love eating out of a little jar.
Um…you had me at those stunning flowers! What pretty colors. Everything is just beautiful.
What a FUN and fabulously rustic outdoor soiree! And that wedding gown is to die for. So unique and frilly. Loving the cinnamon sticks, the very intricate bout, and the photography. Great great post, GWS!
