“A Tini One is on the Way” : A Chic + Playful Baby Shower for Martini-Loving Mom-to-Be

You’ve either lived it or you’ve heard the stories: There’s a special relationship between a mom-to-be and her off-the-wall pregnancy cravings. All bets are off and all snacks are on the table during those nine expectant months. 

So when we heard about a baby shower that centered the entire celebration around the mom-to-be’s unique pregnancy cravings, we could not get enough. It truly has to be one of the cutest, quirkiest, and most creative baby shower theme ideas we’ve ever seen. And for this particular shower, the planners + event designers from Sweet Pea Events were honoring a soon-to-be-mama who simply could not stop craving…wait for it…martinis 🍸🫒.

While she eagerly awaited the the post-pregnancy day when she could finally have an ice cold cocktail of her own, this expecting mom’s shower at Dallas Athletic Club took shape, and the “A Tini One is On The Way” theme was born. “[The mom-to-be] also really wanted to incorporate dad to be in the shower!” says the team at  Sweet Pea Events. “So what better than a Friday evening martini party with their closest friends and family?!”

We are obsessed with the playfully swanky aesthetic and the way a martini-inspired color palette paired so perfectly with pink touches that announced the baby girl. 

“Guests sipped martinis and mocktails while enjoying live music and a vibrant, color-forward atmosphere that felt equal parts elevated and fun,” the Sweet Pea Events team adds. “A chic olive-toned palette, nodding to the classic cocktail garnish, set a modern tone that sidestepped baby shower clichés.”

Loving these adorable hand-drawn pink and green invites from Lanelove Paper Co..

The slogan, the pink arch, and the giant martini already made for a beyond-adorable photo op spot. Then the olive green balloon installation by WOW Balloons took it to the next level.

Perch Decor and Party! Dallas outfitted the space with tons of sweet + swanky decor in the green, blush, and crimson color scheme.

Those deep scarlet velvet table linens from Top Tier were a clever nod to a typical martini’s signature pop of red: the pepper in the olive!

“We all love to play bingo together,” says the Sweet Pea Events team, who are all close with the mom-to-be, “so we incorporated a baby shower bingo game for guests to do at their own pace.”

If you’re on the fence about leaving disposable cameras out at your wedding or event: do it. It’s such a fun way to see the celebration through your guests’ eyes.

“We wanted to make sure that we incorporated the feminine colors of pinks and reds to celebrate the baby girl, but also make it masculine enough so that it didn’t feel TOO girly,” says the Sweet Pea Events team of the floral arrangements by Branching Out Events.

“We brought in pops of olive green and greenery throughout the florals with those rich reds and pinks for the most perfect floral pieces!”

The Tini Bar

A martini-themed shower definitely calls for a show-stopping bar setup and this team delivered! How CUTE is that wavy edge pink + red custom bar menu!

The drink selections consisted of plenty of martinis as well as a few tasty martini mocktails with mango (another one of the mom-to-be’s cravings).

If you’re into the cheeky spirit of a baby shower theme centered on something Mom loves but maybe can’t have until the baby’s born, you’re going to love this “Baby Is Brewing” coffee-themed baby shower and this champagne-inspired garden party baby shower.

And the food? The whole menu was made up of the mom-to-be’s other cravings! Sandwiches, bagel pizzas, and this scrumptious yellow cake with chocolate frosting from Bird Bakery.
