Take a mountaintop venue with European-inspired architecture and sweeping scenic views. Then add playful pastel shades that make you think of a sun-soaked Floridian day in Palm Beach. Finish with look after look of runway-worthy wedding day style. And there you have it – a wedding editorial that seamlessly blends all of its separately stunning elements into something that feels so deeply new.
Photographer Kim Hymes and event designer + planner Taylor of Traveling Weddings are a few of the minds behind this ambitious multi-aesthetic shoot, and Kim explained to us how the idea took shape for them: “The inspiration behind this editorial was a blend of Palm Beach elegance with a soft feminine edge,” Kim says. “We wanted to blend playful sophistication, layered textures, romantic color palettes, and elevated fashion forward details.”
One of our favorite parts of the shoot was getting a peek inside Stone Haven, the project’s sprawling hilltop event venue. A glass + wrought iron atrium. Lantern-lit walkways overlooking stunning sunsets + jaw-dropping vistas. You won’t believe that the cascading hillsides and winding rivers below are in fact in Alabama and not Italia.
The giant sweetheart installation made of draped + gathered fabric was the perfect photo op. Classically bridal lace + satin was reimagined into couture silhouettes. And a Palm-Beach-inspired pastel color world added a special kind of retro nostalgia.
“We wanted it to feel chic, airy, polished, and effortlessly feminine,” Kim shares, “while still maintaining a high editorial feel.”
Another cool element? The shoot featured two “couples,” each with a different approach to wedding day fashion, inhabiting the same ceremony + reception spaces. We love an aesthetic so unique + flexible that it comes to life in different ways for different couples’ vibes!
And read to the end for a seriously fabulous bridal accessory moment (Two words: Feather. Hat.).
The First Couple: “I Do” With a View

We have Odylyne the Ceremony to thank for this gorgeously draped + gathered off-the-shoulder lace wedding gown.

When it comes to menswear, what’s more classic than a white jacket tux? The shoot’s groom fashion came courtesy of Don Morphy.

It’s hard to compete with the views, but this AMAZING floral sculpture definitely has our full attention. We’re SO into the dense, greenery-filled floral backdrop that Campbell Creative Floral Co dreamed up for this mountaintop ceremony.

Lace, lace, and more lace — even the accessories! Head to our roundup of 21 Wedding Gloves for the Fashionable Bride to find an elbow-length pair of your own.

The First Couple: A Perfectly Pastel Reception

Mint green + powder pink! So precious the way the team let the iconic Palm Beach vibe inspire the shoot’s color palette.

We cannot stop thinking about this MASSIVE sweetheart installation! So perfect for pictures. Check out two of our other favorite weddings that featured massive heart-shaped decor:

Wedding decor tip: you kinda can’t go wrong with a fringe umbrella. They work for so many aesthetics! As evidenced by these three very different weddings + events that all feature them so perfectly:

- A Bright And Sunny Gender Non-Conforming Micro-Wedding Weekend
- Mid-Century Magic: A Romantic Retro-Disney-Inspired Wedding in Palm Springs

Nuage Designs took care of the minty pastel linens, and specialty rentals came from EventWorks.

Odylyne the Ceremony did it again, folks. This tiered lace structured babydoll bodice wedding dress has us absolutely spellbound.

Erica Elizabeth Designs, you genius!! How gorg is this vintage-inspired lace wedding veil! The rosettes!

Be still our hearts: that sparkly single stone offset Balacia ring!!!

Oh, and check out The Best Wedding Veils for Every Bridal Style while you’re at it. This one is just so dreamy!

Ivy Vickers took Kim’s aesthetic directive of “chic, airy, polished, and effortlessly feminine” and made makeup MAGIC. And the dreamy hair was all Brooklyn Sainsbury!
