So, you love all the blooming, botanical charm of a classic garden wedding. How could you not? But have you ever wondered what would happen if that predictably lovely garden gathering had its own little renaissance? What if instead of ‘quaint’ it was colorful? What if instead of sweet + traditional it felt absolutely unexpected?
That’s what “Garden of Opulence” – this richly textured and deeply romantic garden wedding editorial from a Philadelphia-based creative team – wanted to explore when it filled the historic Hill-Physick House (built in 1786!!) with so much artful, vibrant flair for this sun-dappled shoot.
“The goal was to create something that felt lush, layered, and full of personality, while still being deeply romantic and achievable for couples who want their wedding to feel intentional and anything but traditional,” says Dani of Deevents.
Swaths of chartreuse and magenta velvet draped and swooped al fresco in the middle of a lush garden. Floral arrangements overflowed abundantly with farm fresh fruits + veggies. Everything — from jewelry to bridal silhouettes to boutonnières — was so perfectly unpredictable.
“The design reimagines classic garden wedding details through a more editorial lens,” Dani explains. Beyond the typical paper parasols and chirping birds of the kind of garden wedding we already know + love there was more to be discovered – and that’s exactly what this team did. The Garden Ceremony
“The ceremony backdrop was one of the most striking design moments,” Dani remembers.
“Rich merlot and chartreuse draping created a bold focal point against the garden setting, while ghost chairs kept the space feeling modern and airy.”

“Instead of relying only on florals, we incorporated produce, texture, and sculptural elements throughout the day,” says Dani.
“Cabbage, asparagus, grapes, limes, artichokes, and garden inspired details were used in the tablescape, flat lays, bouquet, and ceremony styling to create a layered, abundant, feast-like atmosphere.”

“The result,” Dani says of the fruit + veg-filled florals, “was whimsical and unexpected, but still elevated and wedding worthy.”
The Color-Rich Reception
Hausbar was on the scene creating immacualte cocktail hour vibes.

This delightfully pink zero-proof drink tower looks so refreshing!! (Raspberry Rose *is* the best Poppi flavor, btw — no contest.)
Rosier Rentals outfitted the shoot with all of its furniture, and our hands-down favorite element were those ghost chairs! Modern guest seating does so much to make a traditional garden wedding feel more contemporary.
Citrine curated the artful, funky pink + green decor.
Reverie Social handled all things linens.
“The tablescape continued the design story with soft pink plates, green napkins, scalloped stationery, delicate glassware, asparagus bundle centerpieces, fruit details, and a champagne tower tucked into the garden,” Dani shares.
“Every element was chosen to feel abundant, romantic, and a little surprising.”
