Today’s gorgeous wedding has quite the backstory, and for the bride + groom, Lisa + Paul, the quote on that fun custom backdrop above (designed by the amazing team at Amorology Weddings) couldn’t ring more true. L + P dated back in high school, parted ways + married different people, and then later divorced and ran into each other by chance (in the vet office of all places!). The stars aligned, they re-kindled their love, and their beautiful wedding, captured by Diana McGregor, featured lots of sweet nods to their once-in-a-lifetime, fateful story! We just have to hear more details about it all from Lisa:
Paul and I met 19 years ago. I was fresh out of high school trying to figure out my career and Paul was a big partier. He was my first boyfriend I had ever lived with, we lived together for almost 2 years. Both of us living pay check to pay check + wanting different things in life, I ended up breaking up with Paul breaking his heart. I had tried to find Paul a year later but couldn’t find him. We both ended up getting married + I had two children. We lived in the same town, actually just 6 miles from one another, not knowing that at that time. One day in February 2011 we both were at the veterinarian’s office, my back had been turned to Paul not knowing he had just walked in. I turned around and with excitement I gave him a huge hug. And after reconnecting at our veterinarian’s office we have been together ever since!
Plenty of Petals killed it with the bright bouquets filled with fun, wild greens!

We loved hearing Lisa’s account of her history with Paul, and Paul’s vows were so incredibly sweet + summed up so much of their love story, too! When he offered to share them with us, we jumped at the chance. Here they are:
19 years ago, we were both young, had a lot of fun, lots of chaos, lived together at a young age. you were fresh out of high school and I was living paycheck to paycheck waiting for the next party or adventure. It was good times back then. But neither of us knew where we wanted to be in our lives. You had goals for a career and I wanted to live the rockstar life and run around with no cares or responsibility.
16 years later, we meet again by chance. I walked into the vet to pick up my dog and I saw the back of your head and then heard your voice. My heart dropped! I didn’t know if I should walk out the door and hide or just walk up and say hello. You smiled and have me a hug. You had captured 100% of my heart from that moment on. All the feelings and memories came right back and it reminded me how much I loved you and missed you all these years.
Not that we’d expect anything less from Amorology Weddings, but the details from this one are just so good!

Paul’s nickname “The Dirty P” inspired the signature cocktail for the evening + we LOVE the idea of calligraphy glasses so your guests can keep track of their drink all night!
And how perfect is their wedding cake?!
Lisa adds, Things truly happen for a reason, Paul is my true soul mate. We now are married and are currently awaiting on the birth of our baby daughter this December!
Lisa, we’re so happy for you + Paul! Thanks so much for sharing your day with us!
