Thea + Colin are kind of the coolest! They’ve traveled pretty extensively together, and even worked in Asia and Africa for two years! So their stylish Oregon farm wedding was loosely inspired by their travels, as well as their shared love for nature and the great outdoors. Overall they kept things simple and crafted a day with a charming, rustic feel. From the subtle, romantic palette, to the relaxed, homespun styling, their celebration is sure to act as great inspiration for all of you newly engaged couples hoping for a day with a similar vibe!
Some wise words from the bride, Throughout the process, we found peace and centering in remembering what we were doing all this planning for: the start of our lives together. We also knew that with research and hands-on work we could put together a beautiful wedding with a limited budget. And it helped that we decided towards the end that no one would notice the little things we just couldn’t get to.
Big thanks to Phil Chester for beautiful photos + congratulations to Thea + Colin on a super lovely day!
We think this is just the prettiest site for a wedding.
Mint shoes for the win!
Oh, so you’re dying over Thea’s pretty dress, too? For a similar look, check out the Margeaux Gown from BHLDN, available in the GWS shop!
Each of the 14 dinner tables were named after a country Thea + Colin had been to together (from Rwanda to Malaysia), or after a US city they have lived in together (from DC to Seattle)!
During our cake cutting song, ‘All You Need Is Love', all the guests spontaneously broke into song and beautifully sang along just as we were cutting the first piece. In a candlelit barn, we were literally surrounded by all of our loved ones embracing us with their love and support.
Ignore the magazines and reality tv shows, but blogs and pinterest are an excellent source of helpful info for non-professional planners like us. Share the tasks as much as you can, not just for your sanity, but also so that each person is well-represented individually as you unite.
