Today I have not one, but two gorgeous brides wearing PINK wedding dresses! How rad is that? I love when brides aren’t afraid to break tradition and wear what they want. And both weddings are so sweet and personal. You might remember our first couple from their fun engagement session with the art murals in Philly PA. Katherine + Ben rented out a camp for the whole weekend and invited friends + family to come stay from Friday til Monday with them in the cabins at Camp Choconut in Friendsville, PA. A bit about their day from their photographer Amanda at Love Me Do Photography: The wedding was super relaxed and fun. The days were filled with swimming, canoeing and outdoor games followed by a short, sweet ceremony by the lake. After the ceremony they had a cocktail hour plus more games followed by dinner. After dinner, everyone had changed back into jeans and there were skits and dancing in the lodge by the fireplace.
Katherine’s dress was handmade by her sister, but she found the fabric and dyed it herself. Katherine also made all the flowers for the dress and mixed them with vintage ones she had found. Her sisters wore 1920s vintage dresses and Ben’s sister wore a handmade vintage style dress.
Ben’s linen seersucker style suit is vintage Brooks Brothers which he had tailored.
The couple also got canvas bags printed for all the guests with a Choconut label. Everyone got a compass, a friendship bracelet, a mini flashlight, and a packet of mints. Ben and Katherine provided all the meals themselves, with the help of friends and family who did most of the cooking the day of. Ben is really into grilling and bbq, so the wedding menu consisted of sausage, pork tenderloin, pulled pork, brisket, a vegetarian option and some sides (pickles, cole slaw, baked beans etc).
Flowers were found on the grounds of the camp and put into vases in the dining hall of the camp as well as used for Katherine’s hairpiece. Friends, Jessie and Peter, made Katherine’s bouquet. Their friend Jon DJed the evening perfectly. Another friend, John, provided all the meat for grilling. Their friend Jessie also officiated the ceremony. Ben’s sister, Bridget, also made the cakes which we several flavors all made and assembled at Camp Choconut. What a lovely day and love that everyone came together to help celebrate Katherine + Ben’s love. Congrats + Best Wishes to the happy couple!
Thanks also to the lovely Amanda at Love Me Do Photography for sharing this fun wedding with us. Check out more from this wedding here on Love Me Do’s Blog.
I love camp weddings, so laid back and fun! I am planning my own camp wedding for next year and there is lots of good and advice and inspiration here. Thanks for sharing the couples food choices, I found this to be a difficult choice to make, and we have also decided on bbq items. I would love to know what foods they served during coctail hour? What kind of appetizers go with bbq?
Oh wow, this is such a beautiful wedding! What a stunning location and I love all the details!

Beautiful wedding! Saw this on their blog and thought it was amazzing.
Beautiful! I love this. We also plan to have outdoor games like bag toss/cornhole, washer toss and some table games outside during cocktail hour. I think it adds an element of fun to a day that is intended to be fun. :) I love the style of this wedding and I LOVE the pink dress.
