Princess and the Pea Anniversary Photos

Aileen (from the lovely Love & Lavender blog) and her hubby never had engagement photos taken. So when Aileen found out that Rosie of Simply Rosie Photography (who shot their wedding), was going to be in town the week of their first anniversary, she wasted no time convincing Ben that they needed anniversary photos! Aileen is a little obsessed with details + crafts, so she couldn’t resist an opportunity to do a little styling. :) Inspired by fairy tales, in particular the Princess and the Pea since she’s always loved that story and truly feels like their relationship has been something of a fairy tale, she knew she had the perfect concept. They rounded up a bunch of mattresses and fitted sheets, as well as some other cute props and some old-fashioned donuts (their favorite). Aileen made a crescent moon + stars covered with book pages (which they hung from the trees), a couple glittery crowns and a wand, and a “happily ever after” banner. The pinwheels/rosettes on the crowns + the donuts played off of their wedding (where they had donuts + lots of pinwheels!)

Congrats to Aileen + Ben and thanks for sharing your sweet photos with us today!

Congrats to Aileen + Ben on their first anniversary and thanks so much to Simply Rosie Photography for the photos. Also, if you haven’t checked out Love & Lavender, check it out – I think you might find a way to waste some time. :) And for those that are curious, her cute skirt (and pocket-watch necklace) are from ModCloth.
