Ice Castle Engagement Session: Allison + George

Ice Castle engagement

In five years when we think back to some of our most fave e-sesh backdrops, guaranteed this one will still stand out in our minds + top the list. Knowing it would be a jaw-dropping spot to capture a one-of-a-kind engagement session, photographer, Annmarie Swift brought Allison + George to Ice Castle in New Hampshire for a few very key reasons. She says, When I first saw photos of this perfectly gorgeous background, I knew it would be a great location for an engagement shoot and the perfect color palette and texture to pair with a couple so smitten with each other, they almost don’t know how impressive their surroundings are. We can definitely feel the love!

A + G are so cute together. We’ve just gotta hear all about how they met! Allison spills the story below:

Our love story is not quite as glamorous as our engagement photos shot by Annmarie Swift Photography, but our story is certainly unique! George and I met while attending Northeastern University during a Cinco de Mayo celebration at our campus pub. I remember noticing how handsome George was… tall, dark, and he seemed really suave. So suave, in fact, that seconds after we were introduced, George spilled an entire pitcher of beer directly on his lap. Isn’t that romantic? Now, I know what you are thinking; pitchers of beer, college bar, Cinco de Mayo, or more importantly, why wasn’t it a pitcher of margaritas? After casual, sombrero-wearing conversation while George was sopping up the beer from his lap, we exchanged numbers. I know every woman will be shocked to hear this, but the tall, dark handsome man from the bar never called me! George and I agree on the story up to this point, but diverge from here; George claims that weeks later, I sent him a BBM (remember those?) reading “I didn’t give you my phone number for you to NOT text me.” I have a hard time believing I was so direct, but if I was, I don’t regret it for a minute.

Fast forward five years later, during a romantic ski getaway, George got down on one knee atop the summit of Bretton Woods. With a shaking, stammering voice asked, “Would you make me the happiest woman alive?” It was really, really funny and still makes me laugh to this day.

We have traded in our college, beer drinking lives for careers and medical school in New York City. Although we are both busy, our time together is filled with impromptu-interpretive dance parties, cooking, and enjoying our sweet rescue dog named Beans.

Adorable! Congrats you guys + best wishes for a sweet life together!
