From Meg, Because our families are such a huge part of our lives, we asked Scott’s brother, his wife + their daughter to stand up on his side and my sister, her husband + their son to stand on my side to represent the new unity of our families – which became one big family that day. Our union wouldn’t have been complete without our best friend + trusty companion, Tommy Shaw (the golden retriever), standing by our side (and at times on my train!).

Scott + I wanted our wedding to be beautiful, but most of all we wanted it to be a GREAT party. We served delicious small plates by Whoa Nelly! Catering + swanky tunes played in the background. After dinner was over we skipped most of the formalities and got straight to the party. Scott + I stole the microphone on the dance floor and got lifted up on the shoulders of our guests, singing John Denver’s ‘Country Roads’ and The Righteous Brothers’ ‘You’ve Lost that Loving Feelin’!

Our Favorite Memory From The Wedding

One of our favorite moments was after we finished photos – we made our grand entrance into the reception with all of our closest family and friends together in one place, seated under twinkling lights and palm trees, cheering us on. It was incredibly emotional and overwhelming.

You know I always love a good proposal story, and Meg + Scott’s is as sweet as they come…

Scott and I met briefly at a work event at a bar in San Francisco in 2005. His then roommate and my best friend also met that night, and they began dating shortly after. A few weeks later, they insisted that we meet and set us up on what was basically a blind date since we only said a quick hello the night we met. After that date we were inseparable. One year passed and my previous career in hotel real estate required that I move to LA; Scott + I decided it made sense to breakup…if our relationship was meant to be it would be sometime in the future! I spent one year in LA and moved back to the Bay Area. Scott and I reunited over dinner, and that night we knew that we couldn’t live without each other.

In May of 2011, on the anniversary of the day we first met at that work event, Scott and I were doing yard work at the home we purchased together in 2010. We were planting a tree and as I was digging, I hit a small cardboard box in the ground. I was completely confused and thought the previous owners had buried something. I found a small white box inside that dirty cardboard box, and Scott got down on one knee. Obviously, I said yes! And obviously he chose the place we’d be planting that tree.

Congratulations, Meg + Scott! We wish you all the best!
