A Little Black Dress Bridal Shower

Crystal, a make-up artist, knew that she didn’t want a normal bridal shower. No cheesy games or opening gifts awkwardly in front of guests for this gal! Even though she isn’t a huge fan of being the center of attention, she did want to share this very special time with some of her close friends. So, her bridesmaids, along with her amazing mom and some other close friends, threw her the perfect bridal soiree! A bit about the fun shower from Crystal…

We invited all of our guests to join us in their favorite “Little Black Dresses” for a cocktail party with tons of fun details. Being a makeup artist, I couldn’t have a party without including some makeup, so we set up a Lipstick Bar near the photo booth and filled it with bright pinks, reds and oranges for the ladies to experiment with all night. Nicole from Umama created some adorable props for the photo booth including glittery crowns and masks. They were a huge hit! I had so much help in making the shower special. From the cookies, to the venue, crafting days with my bridesmaids, and two full days of cooking, fun was definitely had in the preparation and I am so grateful!

I hope this helps inspire those looking for some ideas in making their bestie’s shower fun + unique!

Just love the lipstick bar idea! How fun – and pretty perfect since the bride is a makeup artist! :)

For anyone looking for a different kind of Bridal Shower Game, the He Said, She Said game was pretty fun! It was a combination of Chick-Flick trivia and questions about my fiance (now husband) and I. Every 10-15 minutes, my Maids of Honor would jump up and yell “Pop Quiz Time”, ask a question or two and reward the winners with a prize. Prizes included nail polishes and Starbucks gift cards.

For the food, we had an immense antipasto and cheese assortment for our appetizer course, followed by Baked Mostaccioli, salad and garlic bread. That was delicious in itself, but to make it even better, a close family friend made giant oatmeal walnut chocolate chip cookies for the party favors! They were the best cookies I’ve ever tasted!
